A blast from the past. I predicted back in December 09, before the Paul Williams v. Martinez 2, that Paul Williams was would a victim of a devasting knockout. Go back in this thread (to post#4) and you will see where I predicted it. And sure enough, it came in his second fight with Martinez.
You also argued that Martinez was a light puncher, You said Martinez didn't hit hard enough to knock P-willy out. So yes you were correct that P-Willy was a KO waiting to happend but you were wrong b/c you thought Martinez was not a strong enough puncher to do it.
During the time before this thread got bumped, Maravilla schooled Pavlick and KTFO Williams. Maravilla is the man.
Martinez is as strong a puncher as they come. Williams is still an incredibly good fighter, just got caught by a nearly perfect punch. Also, the idiot had his gloves near his waist when it happened atsch
I pointed out to you that Martinez, not being a hard puncher, still was able to hurt P. Will, which showed me that Williams had a glass jaw. I still don't believe Martinez is what you call a power puncher.
I did not say that. I said in the first fight, he hurt Williams but did not go for the knock out like he should have. Obviously his people must have read my post because they too realized he should have gone for the knock out in the first fight, but didn't, but said they would in the second fight and they did. My post was more of statement about Williams and not Martinez, which I felt Martinez won the first fight. What I'm trying warn you of today is not to overrate the puncher power of Martinez when has fought two guys with relatively weak chins. My point is proven. Williams had a weak chin, poor defensive skills, he was destined for a devastating knockout. The same will happen to Martinez if doesn't improve on his defense, he gets hit too much.
