If Cotto wins you won't hear from him for a long long time. He will go on a Ward-esque inactivity period where we might never hear from him again. Perhaps some fight with GGG rumours, calling out on some social media stunts here and there and then nothing will happen.

No WBC would say **** GGG and accept pretty easy and happily the Canelo bout. I prefer by far Cotto vs Canelo than Cotto vs GGG, I want GGG to fight Quillin, do not care about GGG facing a faded welterweight.

 

If Floyd and Cotto win they will fight each other, Floyd will retire as lineal middleweight champ of the World and WBC will allow it, book it.

Cotto's options are Canelo and Floyd, fight with GGG is not happening, ever.

However, I think Cotto would give Floyd a hell of a fight in the rematch, but this is the most likely scenario if they both win. If Cotto were to lose, he could likely still close out his career with a match against Canelo for good $$$.

Here is what I think happens and would like to happen. Cotto beats Geale, Then Cotto beats Canelo and Cotto fights GGG and loses. Nothing wrong with that. Retires with challenging the man in the division. I think he will treat like Bernard did and not mind loosing to the man in the division since it's good for boxing. A passing of the torch in a sense.
