Who wins? I think Wladimir on the night he busted up mercer was firing on all cylinders and dubois wouldn’t make it past round 3. I think Wladimir drops him with a quick 1-2 and then highlight reel KO’s him with that lightning quick lead left hook. It would definitely be a lot of fun to watch while it lasted. What's funny about the Mercer fight is Wlad was beginning to slow down if I'm remembering this right, just before the ref stopped it. Doesn't matter, Wlad KOs Dubois. Dubious has a punchers chance obviously. Edit: I'm definitely remembering this wrong. I reviewed Wlad vs Mercer a couple of years ago Ray Mercer vs Wlad Klitchsko Round 1: Klitchsko10-8 Round 2: Klitchsko 10-9 Round 3: Klitchsko 10-9 Round 4: Klitchsko 10-9 Round 5: Klitchsko 10-9 Round 6: Klitchsko KO I remember watching this live and even though Mercer was long in the tooth, I was shocked Klitchsko dropped Mercer in round 1 and almost stopped him. Mercer pushed out his mouthpiece after the knockdown and gave a long thought about not getting up, but to his credit he did and took a bad beating the rest of the way. Mercer landed a few hard jabs and was marking Elad's face, but Wlad was a house of fire here really putting his foot to the floor. I wonder if the fight continued would Kltichsko be in trouble in the later rounds, he set a crazy pace and, well, he had run out of gas before. Wasn't to be though, the ref saw Mercer eat enough leather and......mercifully stopped the fight
In my opinion that Klitschko would have suffered a lot from the explosiveness of Dubois, a faster boxer than the Mercer defeated by Wladimir, who the year after that victory would be destroyed by Sanders. Instead I think that the Klitschko trained by Emanuel Steward would have defeated Dubois by stoppage. Defense and jab, jab, jab, Dubois' eye would have started to swell more and more and the Englishman at the umpteenth jab would have put his knee on the ground and would have been counted out (I have a feeling of Déjà vu).
So everyone's just going to forget Brewster and Purity did Wlad in ? This version of Wlad was great offensively but people just writing Dubois off ? Klitschko wasn't exactly the finished product, Dubois is extremely dangerous for a younger Wladimir
Usyk is undefeated. Prime Joyce is better than Ross Purity. The reality is younger Wlad wasn't nearly as good as his later years and was based on offense like aj, probably about as vulnerable as him too. Dubois size, power, aggression, this isn't a walk in the park for a premature Wlad at all what are you people seeing
And the reality is Wlad has a better jab than Usyk and Joyce, so DDD can have a lot of trouble being constantly peppered with it.
