The court order for Oquendo to be the mandatory is old news by now. It relates back to his fight against Chagaev. Suggest you Google it.

So Joshua vs wlad in April for ibf, super wba and ibo. Nice
Should wlad win, then he will fight Parker.
Only wilder getting in the ring is impossible

The WBA HW title has been a mess for so many years now. there have been brief moments in the last 30 or so years that the best HW out there held it, but otherwise it has been the belt of choice for mediocre and past it heavyweights.

Youre going to compare Rousey to Briggs and Browne? I see what you mean but its a bad example and my point still stands.

What are you babbling on about ? Hearn pleaded with the WBA to sanction the fight. They are simply obliging their request.

Joshua's IBF mando - Parker done a runner. AJ has no mandatory due for another year. That paves the way for a Klitschko unification fight after he gets past Molina

Done a runner? He's being a smart businessman and winning a title. More percentage dummy.

Of course the WBA can't mandate who Joshua fights next but they are giving him the green light to unify on their end.

The IBF would be unlikely to block a unification fight. One the money is too good to pass up and even with Joshua's mandatory due it's within their rules to delay mandatories in the case of unification fights.

Also in the previous negotiations the IBF were never against Joshua unifying with Wlad for the WBA belt so I don't see why they would want to block it now.

They (the IBF) weren't going to block it because they gave Joshua this year to make optional defenses, and Joshua and Wlad were going to fight in December ... which fit into the window they gave Joshua.

The IBF stated after Joshua won the title that since he was not a mandatory when he fought for the title, he had to make a mandatory defense. They said they'd announce his mandatory in mid-November. It's not mid-November yet.

The IBF rules also say mandatories can be pushed aside for unifications when the IBF names THE CHAMPION of another organization an elite contender ... and he agrees to a unification with their champ.

But Wlad isn't the WBA champ. Wlad is the WBA number-two contender. There's no rule in the IBF that says the IBF mandatory gets pushed aside for the WBA number-two contender.

Everyone is so excited about the WBA's ruling, but Joshua isn't the WBA champ. He's the IBF champ. The IBF has said nothing EXCEPT that they were going to announce his mandatory in mid-November.

Based on what the IBF said, it sounds like they're going to say Joshua has to fight an IBF mandatory.

NOWHERE in any article on this announcement did it say the IBF agreed to push Joshua's mandatory defense back. People, like Dan, are just making assumptions.

Is that what they said.. Where? When?

What mandatory? Parker was the mando. He went running. No Parker = No mando.

The only person making assumption here is you.

It doesn't work like that. The IBF names the top available contender it's mandatory. If one guy says no, they go to the next one. You don't skip a year.

And EVERYONE is making assumptions. Nowhere in the WBA statement does it say anything about Joshua-Wlad fighting in the spring. Nowhere. But the IBF stated months ago they were going to announce who Joshua's mandatory would be in mid-November.

And they (the IBF) have not said they've changed their mind about that.

The WBA can announce they'll allow ANYONE can fight for one of their "super" titles. They can announce they'll ALLOW Golovkin and Mayweather to fight for one of their 'super' titles.

That doesn't mean the fight is going to happen.
