Yes M,they were sold on vynyl, maybe you could get them on CD now,it would be interesting to hear them.
I listened to them back in College...probably 1968-1970 era. The interest I think led to the Ali-Marciano "fight" later.
I have the best fights of Marciano ,with the Ali computer fight on it ,unfortunately the Series is not on there.
This is not the best fights ete. Its a release of the Ali Marciano Superbout, 2 disk DVD that came out 2 years ago about. You can still order it on line. Worner's son pretty much push to get this relase legel on DVD.
I am trying to remember who made it to the Finals. I think I remember....but maybe shouldn't say and spoil it for others.
It's funny to think how much stock people put in the calculations of a computer that wouldn't even be able to begin to present this webpage.
I want to hear the radio broadcast of the fights, particularly for the older fighters. Worner was an older person when he produced the event in 1967, so he knew and probably could describe real old timers on radio. Here were the results of the tournament. Murray Woroner’s Computer Tournament (1967) Printed in: "The People’s Almanac", by David Wallechinsky & Irving Wallace (pp. 1144-1147) Round 1: Jack Dempsey KO7 Jim Corbett John L. Sullivan W15 Jim Braddock Joe Louis KO15 Jess Willard Bob Fitzsimmons W15 Jack Sharkey Max Baer W15 Jack Johnson Rocky Marciano W15 Gene Tunney Jim Jeffries KO10 Jersey Joe Walcott Muhammad Ali W15 Max Schmeling Quarter Finals: Jack Dempsey KO7 John L. Sullivan Joe Louis TKO10 Bob Fitzsimmons Rocky Marciano TKO13 Max Baer Jim Jeffries W15 Muhammad Ali Semi Finals: Jack Dempsey W15 Joe Louis Rocky Marciano TKO14 Jim Jeffries Final:Rocky Marciano KO13 Jack Dempsey
The Dempsey Marciano fight was pretty neat to hear, almost made you belive that Baer would beat Johnson, when you hear how the fight is discuss or the blow by blows. Still its all in good fun.
Its all fun...I remember them...some very odd results like Dempsey W15 Louis (you would think that fight would be a KO) Marciano W15 Tunney and Jeffries W 15 Ali...funny when I used to talk to Nat Fliecher and some of the old timers, they would make you believe there era was better
