Maybe for getting in, but not for what they do. A guy like Crumble is basically paid to get knocked out. He's not really competing, he's falling down. There's a name for that in boxing - a tomato can.
how about this fellow.... http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=106095&cat=boxer but he did beat Christian (God) Mijares for his one and only win though...
Well said...i'd love to see half the people on here who regularly critisize boxers get in the ring just once. Their faces would be a picture after they started getting hit for the 1st time
Its bull**** though, for example heres a british fighters record one peter buckley http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=3372&cat=boxer Now looking at it,you would think him complete ****,but having seen him many times on eurosport in the past,he is a very good defensive fighter, who hardly ever got KOed and was used to give up and coming young guys a good hard night test,so sometimes looking at a record on paper does not always tell you the real story, the guy was hard to hit, pretty mobile and knew what he was up to
Agreed!! Records dont tell the whole story, Paul Bonson is another British journyman who would take a fight at a moments notice and then get beat but put on a decent show! Having said that, Eric Crumble's record surely speaks for itself!!!
yeah agreed, the British journeymen I remember some of 'em where quite good. Paul Bonson has one of the best chins in world boxing. 95 losses, 3 by way of TKO. 20-95-7 doesn't tell half the story. Tony Booth is also another journeyman who's pretty good. 50-105-9 looks terrible, but when you think about it he's got more wins than any other british boxer I can think of. Calzaghe has 43, hatton 42. Ojay Abrahams is my fave though. He was a pretty talented fighter back in the day, I'm sure he could've been a decent contender if he'd have got the right management. 20-75-4 but trust me he was genuinely quite talented.
