Inspired by the recent Ali/Spinks thread and when i mean "worst boxers" i don't mean they have to be journeyman or bad fighters just in comparison regarding their respected careers. I'll start us off. Mike Tyson vs Kevin McBride Roberto Duran vs Pat Lawlor/Kirkland Laing Wilfred Benitez vs Pat Lawlor Jose Napoles vs Billy Backus Michael Nunn vs Steve Little Aaron Pryor vs Bobby Joe Young Nino Benvenuti vs Tom Bethea Matthew Saad Muhammad vs Eric Winbush Jack Dempsey vs Fireman Jim Flynn/Willie Meehan James Toney vs Drake Thadzi
No doubt he was levels above Lawlor but in regards to their respected careers Duran losing to Laing is a pretty bad loss. Considering Laing never really reached top level and was more along the lines of a British/European level fighter. No doubt Laing was talented though but considering this loss took place in 1982. And Duran not long before had beat Leonard, and then would go on to have good fights vs Hagler, Barkley. It's a pretty shocking loss to be fair for an ATG like Duran.
Yeah it wasn't to have a dig at Laing i was just saying when you compare Laing to Duran it's a very shocking loss in all honesty. Just to add i really enjoyed Laing's fights vs Colin Jones, and funnily enough both fights ended exactly the same way a great contrast in styles though the boxer vs the puncher.
Alexis Arguello vs Vilomar Fernandez Julio César Chávez vs Frankie Randall Jeff Fenech vs Calvin Grove Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn Thomas Hearns vs Iran Barkley Wladimir Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders
