Harrison v Haye was a complete farce. Not helped that I put twenty quid on A-farce (not my finest bet). Harrison shouldn't have been paid for that.
The night Duran got Bizzaro in Erie. I hate getting old. My memory sucks. Every fight I think of I hunt down the videos. Rewatch and say to myself, "...that's not as bad a fight as I thought it was." One tends not to remember the really bad ones. Finally found a candidate. Primo 135 Roberto Duran (scouring the earth for opponents) vs. local legend of northeast Pennsylvania Lou Bizzaro. Broadcast on saturday afternoon network TV back in the day of 3 channels and static. Duran chased Bizarro at a miler's pace for most of 14 rounds in front of a frantic Erie, PA. And I mean chased. Run, run, run. The 30 seconds of brutality at the end almost made up for the mind-numbing boredom of the rest of the fight.
I really think Haye must have bet on the 5th round stoppage or whatever round he threw his first punch
Haye vs Valuev. One round David landed 8 punches, one almost a haymaker. Worst was Oquendo vs Ruiz. I've read reviews about it that was more entertaining. I think commentators wanted to do a clinch count, they talked like it wasn't a fight, home, baseball, then we missed a punch that somehow stopped it. Honorable horror to Hopkins RJJ II And Hop vs Hakkar....well it was too funny to say worst. anyone who hasn't seen Hop Hakkar, give it a shot. it's not a fight....but some damn funny shhitt occurs Jim lamply was cracking serious jokes about how bad Hakkar doesn't want to fight.
How the hell is that fake body builder 11-0? He literally looks like he has a bone disease. I thought this was like a charity fight for a ******. Like when highschool teams let their autistic water boy on to shoot a lay up.. thought this was a feel good story lol but he's a legitimate boxer with a bone disease that throws punches in slow motion and he's undefeated? Obviously its fixed but how has he fixed 11 previous fights aswell? Absolute scenes.
For me, Okolie v Chamberlain has to be the worst. I was a big supporter of Isaac and a big hater of Okolie (still am) so I was hyped for that fight months before it was even made. I know Okolie is a KO disaster waiting to happen and I'd seen Isaac battle on one-armed to beat Wadi Camacho, so I thought it would be easy pickings for Isaac. What's worse is that I paid to watch this farcical fight in attendance at the cost of watching the Gassiev-Dorticos classic. The whole thing was a nightmare. Terrible in-ring action. And I encouraged a few people to bet on Isaac so it was Ls all round for me. He did, bet on himself (and had friends place bets too) on the 3rd round
Mayweather v McGregor : ) Veery bad theater.Ortiz v Allen, not so bad, but still bad theater.Allen isn't a good actor, but Ortiz did good job in that fight and even better against Wilder.Very talanted actor.
