Watch Barrera vs. Morales 1 Sky Sports and see the difference between that and the HBO job. Sky Sports embarrases HBO on almost every call. De La Hoya vs Floyd and Hatton vs. Floyd also spring to mind.
I agree with you. Lampley can be a cheerleader from time to time, but when he's on..he's the best in the business at what he does. I cringe at the thought of Lampley being replaced by Bob Papa. :yikes Anyway, I wouldn't say it was the worst commentating job..but the Irish commentators for Bernard Dunne/Poonsawat fight were pretty damn horrible. They must have had the worst seats in the house because they claimed not to have seen punches land for the first two knockdowns. They also repeatedly exaggerated the effect of Poon's so called headbutts and were quick to give Dunne credit for "good work" while he's simultaneously getting his **** pushed in. sky box office / sky sports in the pacquiao hatton fight i know hatton is british but damn he wins and he's greatest in the world and when he lost to pacquiao all they did was curse him out for the whole minute interval between round 1 and 2 as if no1 has eva been knocked down in the 1st round before
hector camacho vs ray mancini boring fight with super boring commantator [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zegRZqeAijE[/ame] sounds flat
I don't remember the exact quote but in the Martinez v Pavlik fight I heard: "Martinez's nickname is Maravilla, which means marvel, like Maravilla Marvin Hagler."
Pavlik Martinez Berto Collazo was pretty bad - i dont know how many times they said that Berto got dropped in round one but it was sooooo annoying
i just hate any commentry where the commentators are so obviously biased towards there own countryman! makes me sick .....JUST REPORT HONEST & FAIR GODDAMIT!
Most of the **** Larry Merchant says. Everything he says supports his actual underlying agendas. The amount of bias in his commentary is unbearable at times.
