True dat, thing was though that he kept doing it. Every time you thought he'd stopped he spazzed out again and started shouting bang. BANG is there a docto- BANG seriously im in dire need of BANG BANG argh i cant stop sayi- BANG BANG
Hate to zing the guy because he's one of my favorites. But if you watch Marquez-Vazquez II, Al Bernstein missed a TON of stuff. Dude had an off night during one of the greatest fights of the decade.
I'll nominate Foreman also for the Lewis-Klitschko fight. He constantly said Lewis was going even though he was firing back with some huge shots of his own. Hell he even got Lamply onside, start of the second round Lewis comes swaggering out of his corner "Lewis is on shakey legs", pricks. For being constitantly moronic it's got to be Watt though. The man's like a broken record and sometimes it's like he's watching a different fight from the rest of the world.
I agree with those who feel Lampley is the worst commentator and for the reasons already posted however, the single worst commentary (or at least the one which springs immediately to mind) was Bob Sheridan commenting on Lewis Holyfield 2 for kingvision. He gave Holyfield something like the first nine rounds straight. Definition of going with the crowd.
Has to be Pacheco's work in Chacon/Edwards II. Arguably the greatest fight of all time and I still can't watch the damn thing with the sound on.
Merchant is cool. Most of the people who dislike him are Floyd fans, but Merchant isn't always anti-Floyd. In his most recent fight, when Shane CLEARLY hurt and buckled Floyd with that second, big right hand in round 2, Merchant was the only one saying that Floyd wasn't hurt. I actually found it quite bizarre...normally I would suspect him of being a cheerleader in denial, but he's clearly far from a Floyd groupie, so I can't explain his comment there.
