well...somewhat I guess...Vasquez had already agreed to fight Norwood, his mandatory, so he knew by backing out and fighting Haned that he would be stripped...I not saying that I blame him, however it was really his decision not the wba...Plus Hamed was offered the fight with norwood... he fought soto instead and norwood fought JMM..

How about WBC stripping Casamayor just to make David Diaz vs. Don Jose Sulaiman favourite Mexican Erik Morales a legitimate world title fight? And when Joel threatened to sue, they threw the WBC interim belt (previously held by Diaz) at him, a meaningless, non-existent title only to pay a sanctioning fee after that. Somehow the judges had Diaz beating Morales to throw all the hard corrupt work out of the window, and rewarding Casamayor in the Santa Cruz fight with a 'we are sorry Joel, have a cookie' win.

Every single action in that situation was controversial and the intentions so evident, that I can't believe they pulled it off after the Rocchigiani case. I wished back then that Rocky would say goodbye you corrupt, biased **** organization, but instead of that, the WBC survived, and made this interim **** (to be able to pay Rocky) popular - and now all other santioning bodies following it's footsteps.

The latest is the WBC willing to sanction any Margarito fight outside of the US, where he is banned, and kissing PacMan's ass all the time for Pacquiao not to vacate the WBC belt. The actions are clear, but here's another one: other than any future fights with a nice santioning fees, the WBC wanted PacMan to pay for non-WBC fights inlc. De La Hoya and Hatton. But PacMan was smart enough to vacate.

 He would have been an excellen honorary Policeman in the 30's Los Angeles, that's for sure.

The worst decision by a sanctioning body was to actually form in the first place.

it was far worse before sanctioning bodies....having to sign with promoters just get close to a title shot, oh wait it still happens

but the ring has had dodgy rankings as well...also if there were no abc belts you would have goldenboy owning the ring magazine.............

Kostya Tsyzu was another one. They made him "Emeritus" which allowed them to make more sanctioning fee`s by vacating the belt and allowing Gatti to fight for it who was popular after the Ward/Gatti trilogy.

The WBC also gifted Jones there belt when Rocchigiani was there champ. He sued them succesfully and the WBC were literally a few dollars away from filing for Chapter 11 until the settled out of court for an undisclosed sum and there bull**** organisation was saved.

Your missing the point...Jones was the champ in the first place...The belt was lifted from him because he was in talks to fight Douglas..Once the talks fall apart the WBC had already order a fight between Rocco and Nunn for the title, then changed it to an interim title fight, and ordered a fight between the winner and Jones. Rocco signed and pretty much pulled a no show, opting to fight in the courts and not the ring...Jones should have never been stripped of the title in the first place so not sure that he was gifted a title that was his anyways...The WBC jumped the gun and it cost them bigtime in the long run.

Ranking dead Darrin Morris at #10 and elevating him to #5 position in a year after his death is hands down the worst ever decision by the sanctioning body (WBO).

Also, here is Roque Cassiani with a record like 22-19-1, who was ranked at top ten super featherweight byt the IBF. He lost 5 of his 6 at the time of compilation.

I also remember Spaniard Jorge Mata ranked exactly three years after his last bout.

That was the WBC`s own fault. They went with the most lucrative fighter. It cost them millions. And i think at the time wasnt Rocco in jail?
