Good choice. That KO kind of came out of nowhere, as Garza was on a roll. being 40 - 0, or something like that. Got caught by a left hook and that was it. He never really was the same.

    Valdemir Pereira vs Eric Aiken

pereira was a big thing in brazil at the time. an olympian who seemed to skip through to a high ranking within 4 years. winning a world title. big talks about a fight with friend Frietas or at least a double promotion for a brazilian boxing banner. he was loud, brash...and honestly....his style was really drab. not quick not hard hitting. really clunky, clubbing but also pretty quick footwork. so a unique quality.

while trying to bring an american audience he was pinned to defend his title on the hatton - collazo undercard. sadly his opponant Esham Pickering was injured...he needs a replacement.

meanwhile somebody else at the same time called Eric Aiken a...how would you describe him. skittish, sort of quick, though undersized featherwieght with a recently 14-4 record. coming off a loss to johnnie edwards who had a a 5-0 rec in march 2006. getting a quick return bout he shockingly knocked out an old, blown up, comebacking Tim Austin less than 2 weeks later...shocking turn about but also got him ranked 15th in the ibf. with Pickering out. he was the only man who picked up the call. with 13 days notice and only a month after the austin fight..which is i need to remind and make clear. In march he was losing in a 6 rounder. and barely 50+ days later he is in a 12 rounder for a world title.

The bell rings and within 2 rounds Pereira is exposed. his high guard is clamped up while aiken paws with his jab and lead right hands locking him up. Valdemir decides to start pressing the unseasoned Aiken. throwing combos and bodyshots which Aiken completely disrepects him on and trades back. hurting him. to balance it back and get respect he clacks him with a huge lowblow. Round 4 the nobody lands shots and unlike his style walks through and backs up the Brazilain olympian. and drops him. who gets up and again lands a lowblow out of desperation. while getting battered and outslugged outboxed and just unfeared he goes for a gamble and gets knocked down again. AGAIN landing lowblows trying to get himself out of the situation. while aiken lands where he is. embarresingly landing more lowblows which het gets even more points deducted.
    then WHAM. another lowblow. DQ'd.

Eric Aiken 15-4 IBF Feather world champion. who later never won another fight. widely seen as the 'worst' world champion. though...could have a tv movie about him.

Pereiera never fights again. all the future plans falling apart. he looked bad, he looked sluggish, he was exposed he was beaten and the higher than mountain the more mountain there was to fall down.

    Hearns - Cuevas.
Nobody even knows the latter's name anymore, despite his otherwise great reputation at the time.
Pipino was great, and I still love him almost as much as I do Hearns, but he just wasn't enough for the Hitman.

Deontay Wilder in the 2nd fight vs Tyson Fury

That was one badass, ****ing one sided, severe BEATDOWN Fury gave Wilder. Blood was coming out of Wilders ears.

Ruiz Jr. simply for the spectacle of it all. Three weeks notice. Fat as f***. 6' tall blob of a heavyweight. American debut for superstar AJ. Legendary Madison Square Garden. 20-1 odds. Then he outfights Joshua. He outboxes Joshua. He beats him up until he quits. Absolutely devastating loss. Career completely derailed. Didn't beat a top 10 opponent after that.

Fury vs ngannou. I don’t care if he was out of shape, that was still disgraceful.

Douglas vs Tyson, Ruiz jr. vs Joshua, and lately Cacace vs Cordina in Riyadh.

Bute vs Froch does not belong here, Super 6 was acknowledged at the time as gathering the superior boxers.
