really, i dont know much about Tyson and atlas outside the gun point drama

so your saying he was extremely vital and that Rooney took over from what Atlas created

also the Rooney interviews put up here are great

my opinion is Tyson had issues and was probably gonna implode eventually if it wasnt Douglas or Holy he woulda underestimated or under trained eventually

the 90's was to be an even tougher decade

Don King and other promoters took away all the good ppl around him and surrounded him with Kings goons who King trusted but were not necessarily what Mike actually needed

it was like how Elijah Muhammad wanted Dundee out of Ali's corner to put in one of his cronies but Ali was smart and kept the guy who got him there

while that may be true, don't you think hamed may not exactly be the easiest person to deal with and likes things to be done his way.

Many boxers are, but Hamed's unorthodox approach is what allowed him to compete, and even dominate in a division he was too small for.

Steward trains fighters one way- fight tall, jab a lot. Good for tall fighters, and then once he trains a guy who is small it's not optimal. Hamed was 5'3. Every time he fought he had a sizable reach and height disadvantage. So what does this dumbass Steward tell him? Stand right in front of guys and trade. Paul Ingle should've beaten Hamed with this dumbass approach (and Hamed took a pretty good beating, worse of his career) until Hamed's power bailed them out.

i think mike was losing control even when rooney was with him at the end. but, with rooney, he was like 36-0 with 33 kos lol

but rooney was a no nonsense type of guy. its either my way or the highway
