Anyone getting sick and tired of boxers denying the fights that the fans want to see? Because I sure as hell am. I don't like watching the UFC but it seems as if their fighters are all willing to fight eachother no excuses. This is a list pointing out the worst offenders: 1. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez - Has flat out ducked the champion at 160 GGG, and has introduced a ridiculous catch weight scenario where he won't budge over 5 lbs, where as fights in the UFC are taking place with 20 lbs weight difference. A disgraceful and obvious duck. 2. Adonis Stevenson - Has flat out ducked fighting the champion at 175 Kovalev, he was even offered 50/50 which in no way he deserves and turned it down citing network problems. It's clear this guy will never fight either Kovalev or Ward. 3. Amir Khan - Has flat out ducked his biggest rival Kell Brook and in doing so has denied the fans who have paid his wages all these years the fight that they want to see most. A total **** you to everyone who has supported him over the years. In fact it looks like he has ducked the entire 147 division by fighting nobodies and then leaving. What's worse in this case is that he was offered a career high payday for the bout. Shameful. 4. Carl Frampton - Relinquished the WBA belt after ignoring their calls to enter discussions with the champion of the division Rigo. It's clear that Frampton doesn't want the fight and will probably move up in weight to avoid it. Add your own
5. GGG Ducks challeneges, had opportunity to fight Canelo at 155 just 3 pounds under what he weighs in , or fight Ward at 168 the next division above him, or Lara at 160. GGG has problems, managing problems.
I agree with everyone on the list, but to be fair to Canelo he didn't invent the catchweight farce that currently exists at MW.
"I agree with everyone on the list, but to be fair to Canelo he didn't invent the catchweight farce that currently exists at MW" yup I don't agree with it....but when you are able to challenge for the belt at a cw and u win you could see how canelo might feel its ok to defend it at a cw too.....
And the spiritual king of these duckers, the one that paved the way and showed them how to do it: the one and only Floyd Mayweather Jr.
So what if he invented it or not? He is setting a standard that is ridiculous. Imagine any fighter you don't have a crush on doing this. Imagine Ward winning a LHW belt and saying "We are comfortable at 169. 169 or no fight". It's outrageous:!:
Peter Quillin Guillermo Rigondeaux Nicholas Walters Terence Crawford (if he ducks Postol) Adonis Stevenson Javier Fortuna (ducked Uchiyama) Kell Brook (ducked Rios and Chaves) Saul Alvarez (ducking Golovkin)
