Mayorga and Margarito smashed him and he was the WBA 147lb champ prior to Mayorga.

His Roy Jones impersonation is one of the worst iv ever seen. His really not half as good as he thinks he is.

Indeed. i remember seeing him on HBO beating up the champ at the time(Page?? dropped Oscar in sparring once supposedly) and was seen as a serious threat to Mosley.

Six heads was more hype than anything else. I remember when he fought Mayorga.NO ONE expected it to be that one sided. Mayorga simply bull dozed him and his chin was quite poor. For all his vaunted power Mosley would have moidered him.

I never expected it. Mayorga back then was a relative unknown. I was sure rooting against Forrest though as i hated the fact that he made a name for himself of Sugar Shane and then started talking trash like he was really that good. He was boring and very negative to watch. But he was a dangerous and known quantity. He was fortunate Shane has the balls to fight anyone otherwise his name never would have been mentioned.

Indeed. Chris Byrd's wife was quite annoying during the rematch with Mayorga. I do however give major credit to Vernon for helping out those kids and the success he had from the Mosley fights made it possible.

And Ike was ROBBED against Forrest.:-(

True.I believe he has some organisation that helps out disabled and mentally imparied kids. His a good guy. But i guess with all the smack talk he was just trying to get his.His never been the same since the shoulder injury though.

:thinkThen again, if he didn't talk trash we may be saying how boring he was outside the ring as well. Gotta promote yourself somehow i guess.

Shoulder injuries are tough to bounce back from yes? They are almost as debilatating as hand injuries for a fighter i'm sure.

Well his snooze fest with Raul Frank was probably why he got such a hard time. Plus his quite a negative counter puncher. That fight kind of reminded me of when Marquez fought Derrick Gainer. What an awful bout it was.

No question about his shoulder though. I think he had a dodgy rotator cuff.

Yes, i remember reading about that bout in Ring magazine and it was met with a less than stellar review.

I myself disliked Forrest for beating Shane but i just flat out despise Mayorga as he brings nothing but a thug attitude and persona to the ring. Ughh...
