The worst refereeing you've ever seen?

Im very tired and I dont tend to watch that fight often due to the ending so may need a bit of a refresher to the refereeing

I remember Benn going through the ropes at one point and then the initial stoppage also which cause McClellan's retirement

 

Mares/Agbeko I was the worst in recent times.

Mares/Moreno was ****ing awful too.

agbeko/mares I ref . russel mora i believe . the whole low blow thing just unacceptable.
cortez and the whole may vs ortiz fight, he wasnt even pay attention when that **** went down.
and the ref in the sergio martinez/kermit cintron fite. sergio actually knocked him out but the ref made sum bs call to keep the fight going . cintron got counted out and everything but im not sure excatly what happened. i thin cintron convinced he ref that is was a low blow or a head butt that put him down . but then u watch the replay and clearly see that it was a punch that sent cintron down 4 the count. then they fite to a decision and serg completely out classes him but still sum how the judges call it a draw.

 

The ref just seemed to want Benn not to get knocked out once he got up he was forcing McClellan away from starting again, looked like he was trying to give Benn a rest and also didn't do much about the rabbit punches Benn was hitting McClellan with.

 

Yup Ottke ducked Calzaghe. But clearly beat Reid.

Ottke CLEARLY WON.

Kostya Tszyu vs Leonardo Mas (referee Joe Cortez)

The fight was declared a no contest in the 1st after Tszyu dropped Mas 3 times. Mas was holding the whole round and looking for help from Cortez from the first time he felt Tszyu's power.

I've never been a big fan of Cortez as a referee, he has been involved in a couple of shockers over the years.

The referee in the Ward-Kessler fight need to mentioned here...JUST so there is no mistakes,Ward won the fight!! But i was amazed by the way Ward was allowed to headbutt Kessler several times,especial the one in round 8 i think,he just ran in to kesslers face with his forehead,witch cause a bif cut,the ref. didn´t even talked to ward...there was several times he should have stepped in,and ATLEAST WARNING ward for the headbutts,it almost ended kesslers sight,and career...referees that dont go by the rules...should be banned!!! Cortez is a classic cheater! i am sure he more than once has recieved some extra money to let crazy things happen...Mayweather-Hatton..I also think May-ortiz was fishy..Apparently boxing is still a dirty sport,payed judges and ref´s.. its unbelieveble that the WBA,WBC,IBF,WBO don´t do ANYTHING about this huge problems...Foreman-Cotto Did you here arthur marchante´s talk to Foreman duuring the fight!! i was shocked!!! Clean it up...We are millions watching,and enough is enough!!!

 

But if he was paying attention absolutely nothing about the result changes. Not the slightest.

Should he have been looking? Yes. Was it bad refereeing? Not among the worst 25+ ref jobs of this year, and we're only 3 months in.

The worst part of Cortez's role in Mayweather/Ortiz was Cortez not warning Ortiz for headbutts which began in round 2.

 

I cannot remember the name of the participants but there was a ref on an undercard with two heavies recently (well, last year) where one was badly hurt, had taken a knockdown or two and the ref was letting the guy keep taking punishment.

It was vs one of these emerging eastern euro fighters I think.

Haven't winced like that in a while.

Also the ref that let mares get away with 100 low blows was a disgrace.
