I absolutely hate the ESPN+ double revenue business model. Despise it. For those of you unfamiliar with it, you can't order an ESPN PPV without being an ESPN+ subscriber. They are basically saying "you have to pay us to earn the right to pay us". At least with DAZN you get all of their fights for free. With Showtime, you can get their PPV whether you are a Showtime subscriber or not. You subscribe to watch the regular fights, but the super fights were available to anybody who ordered it. ESPN+ is ridiculous with their level of hubris in demanding you pay twice. I've always watched the biggest fights, even when they charge silly amounts of money for it. But ESPN+ irritates me so much that I've actively avoided watching any fights there and waited until the next day. I am grateful that Wilder-Fury 2 was also available on Fox, but with Fury now the king heavyweight, I worry that it gives ESPN even more leverage to force viewers to pay them twice. Say what you will about Al Haymon or DAZN, but there has always been a level of fairness to their level of access to the biggest fights.
