Was never as glad to see Joshua smash him in couple of rounds. I was frequenting an mma board and they where shyting over boxing on a daily basis following Fury making a fool of himself, then Joshua saved the day, so I am thankful for that!

Glazkov was not worse than Martin. He was a bronze medallist and beat Adamek, Scott and Cunningham, who were contenders at the time. And Cunningham was a champion at cruiser, maybe Adamek, can't remember. Glazkov did his knee and was never seen again so we'll never really know what he could have done. But he was obviously good, that's why Duva had him. We know Martin is terrible.

It probably has to be the MMA fighter but it's a little strange because it only happened due to the arabs. It was a pure circus fight.

The worst just before that period was Leapai versus Wlad. Probably the least competitive Wlad fight of all time.

Claudio Squeo, he had never fought a 12-round match before facing Opetaia 20 days ago (the Italian fighter was 14th in the IBF rankings, a voluntary defense for Opetaia).

In his second Wilder bout, absolutely - nowhere near what he'd been first time around, and he wasn't exactly brilliant at that point, even.

It's hard to think of a better example of someone who was totally undeserving of being in a title bout than a guy who is completely and utterly outclassed by a borderline fraudulent champion.

    Unless...
Another "much worse in the rematch" comes to mind - McCall in the rematch with Lewis was cleared so gone mentally that he simply didn't even engage and couldn't possibly have won, potentially regardless of who you put opposite him.

It's not in the last ten years of course, but it shows that worse is possible.

People focusing on heavyweights just have an agenda they're pushing with certain fighters.

The worst challengers BY MILES are in the lower weight classes. Awful fighters get title shots all the time. But nobody pays much attention to those belts, so nobody cares.

Pick a belt, scroll down the list of title defenses, and the names pop out.

I picked WBC Super Flyweight. The first name that popped out was Dixon Flores.

Everyone REMEMBER Dixon Flores? Remember all the threads about how awesome he was? Of course not, because he was awful.

He wasn't even a Super Flyweight. He's nobody. He was a nobody. Is a nobody. Got a title shot in a division he didn't even compete in. He never won a fight previously that wasn't a four-rounder or a six-rounder.

There have been dozens of Dixon Flores types fighting for titles in the lower weight classes over the previous decade.

Dominic Wade against GGG was pretty bad.

Thats a good one. I think Wade was the IBF mandatory. But I wonder if it was worse than Gary Corcoran against Jeff Horn.

 Who the **** is Dixon Flores?

Remember Vyacheslav Senchenko - the guy Malignaggi beat to win the WBA welterweight belt? Well, he had 3 title defenses before meeting Paulie:
    Motoki Sasaki
    Charlie Navarro
    Marco Antonio Avendano

Sasaki was a genuine Japanese level boxer. He was good enough to to pick up the JBC belt at 140 before meeting Senchenko, but in the end he went 1-3 in Japanese title fights. He later picked up the OBPF title at 147 and earned a crack at the WBA belt by fighting complete bums. He legit took a step down in competition and was awarded for it with a title fight.

Navarro was a thought bum from Venezuela, and one that could punch. He had absolutely no business fighting for a belt, but did so anyways. To his credit, he gave Senchenko a good fight and ran him close on the scorecards. I saw the fight years ago, and remember it being competitive - however I don“t recall how I scored it.

Avendano was another bum from Venezuela, but he was also an old guy at 38. The Ukrainians were milking that WBA belt for everything it had. Malignaggi was also a cherry pick, but one that went wrong.

My vote goes to this random Thai guy who challenged for the WBC minimumweight title who was 1-5 in his last six and was awarded a title fight against Chaozhong Xiong.

I think he drawed with Scott. And both Steve and Adamek were cruiserweight champs. Well, Adamek was the champ, Cunningham was a title holder.

It will never be known how good Glazkov was, since he never returned after destroying his knee. It isn't like Martin put an ass whooping on him.

Shout out to William Scull who just danced around (badly) against Ginger nuts and barely threw a punch. Terrible challenger.

Alen Babic fighting for the WBC bridge weight title. Yea the title is ****, but Babic fought for it.

I have a much better answer if this was for the last 25ish years
