I believe DLH got a Gift when he lost to a SD because he was outboxed for most of the fight...

I also Believe Malignaggi got a gift when lost to a SD because he was outboxed by the better boxer for the entire fight

    discuss :bbb

He must be talking about Floyd vs. oscar. Oscar was only outboxed the final 4 rounds. Up until the 8th, he was very much even with Floyd, was ahead on the scorecards after the 6th-7th rounds. His aggressive non stop throwing, to Floyd's one shot at a time, was bettering him. It wasn't until Oscar started slowing down Floyd was able to start taking the lead

Broner vs Malignaggi was a lot closer and less clear cut that DLH vs Mayweather. I was rooting for Oscar, but I knew he didn't win that fight. The split decision was kind of surprising.

Had the Oscar Floyd fight tied after 9 rds, then Floyd swept the last three from an over the hill wasted DLH.

I wouldn't have given oscar the fight, but it was close enough, no worse than 116-112, maybe 115-113 Floyd. I did admire Oscar's persistence and constantly putting his chin out there showing Floyd zero respect. Oscar had to force the fight, something he doesn't typically do, and definitely not to that degree of aggressiveness. This is why he stated after the fight that there wouldn't have been a fight if he didn't constantly chase and attack floyd. Oscar tried to make it exciting but he would have better off had he made it a chess match because he is just as good of a boxer as Floyd is when he wants to be. Would have made for a snoozefest though and Oscar likes to please the crowd so he went all out on Floyd. His body attacks were great also, something he wasn't given much credit for and something I haven't seen others accomplish on Floyd. Even the jabs to Floyds shoulders were great.

Why would a loss be considered a 'gift', just because you lost one way rather than another? That's a loser's mentality, and so neither ODLH or Paulie feel they were gifted.

What you mean to ask was which fight had the clearer winner. I would go with the Floyd as a clearer winner over Broner.

Yes, similar to my score. I think it was a moral victory for Oscar though, hung right in there until the end and finally landed that left hook, mind you without any of the pop he used to have, in the last 3 seconds of the fight when floyd FINALLY stopped to go toe to toe.

I thought Malignaggi won 4 of the first 5 rounds and the last few rounds were close. I think the 7-5 and 5-7 cards were more correct than the 9-3 card.

De La Hoya. Broner won a close fight that could've gone either way.

LOL That Fool gave Floyd fits and had Floyd's own corner saying after the 6th or 7th round " Don't worry Floyd, we will catch up with him in the later rounds" since Floyd was getting frustrated and was losing at that point. Out of all of Floyd's opponents, a washed up, over the hill Oscar gave Floyd everything he could handle and Floyd had to bank on Oscar slowing down in the last few rounds to win the fight. If this was Oscar from late 90s, Floyd would have lost definitely.
