True, that's why Iwas dissapointed with his last few fights cuz he made the same mistakes. With that Gonzalez guy I was really pissed cuz I was expecting some progress, plus he got a gift stoppage.
All he needs is a good trainer but he has that bum promoter Oner who don't know ****.

Exactly. I mean, Gamboa's money is very tight. He can't afford a decent trainer, I bet he's in charge when it comes to training. And thats what makes me nervous about him fighting for a title soon. He's gonna be fighting against experienced guys and his trainer isn't ready to take it to that level.

Bum? For how long have you been following the sport? Estrada lost one fight inside distance in the last 4, in a fight where he stunned #1 British SFW prospect Kevin Mitchell. Yet he stood only 25 seconds vs. Gamboa + 10 sec on the floor and it was over.

For those who think Gamboa is fighting bums: look at the FW rankings. Who should he fight? He's already fought 4 ranked fighters, meaning challengers a champion could've chosen in a world title fight. He also fought a former world title challenger in Kebede, not ranked. Name one other prosect who fought 4,5 ranked guys in 14 fights. Elio Rojas, pretty much unknown, is a mandatory challenger at the WBC, and a pretty solid fighter, yet he will be called a bum. Cristobal Cruz was probably called a bum by many, yet he's now the IBF FW champion. Takahiro Aoh was probably called a 'protected Japanese bum', yet he lost an extremely controversial decision in Japan!!! to Oscar Larios, the WBC world champion.

Simply put, this is what the division can offer. If there are no P4P-ers, you have to fight what's out there. And we are speaking of a fighter who's not a world champion yet, and fighting contenders is now like fighting bums?

Gamboa's been legitimately down just 3 times, and the times he has been down he's never even hit his ass. He's literally been back on track within about 2 seconds of getting tagged and has come back strong from every one, including KO's in all of them outside of the Jiminez fight.

I would love to see him face Jorge Linares who I think would knock him out viciously.

The only guy that would be getting knocked out is Linares. He's not a special prospect like Gamboa.

One guy has under 15 fights, the other has 26 fights. Sounds completely fair to me.

This kid is the future. I havent seen a young fighter like him since Tony Ayala Jr. This kid was born to be a pugilist.

The left hook to the body right to the head is becoming Gamboa's money punch. Enjoy!

Not exactly a Gamboa news, but definitely related to Yuriorkis, and it's an absolutely amazing one:

Guillermo Rigondeaux, after 2 unsuccessful tries, finally managed to leave Cuba, and already joined former teammates Gamboa, Barthelemy, Solis and Lara in Miami. Even compared to Gamboa, Rigondeaux, a two-time Olympic gold medallsit which should be 3 by now if he wasn't banned, is on a different level. Probably the most skilled fighter out there, amateur or pro.

Looks like Rigondeaux is actually over. A bunch of other major news sources have picked up the story now. Nothing in English language yet though.

Fortunately the report was true, as Hamburg based promoter Ahmet Öner confirmed that Rigondeaux is in Miami, and will fight under the Arena Box-Promotion banner. He said an official announcement is coming next week. Guillermo is obviously taking a rest. F*ghtNews also has a short article on the breaking news.

So it confirmed: Rigondeaux in Miami, and turns pro! :nut

    Wicked.
