Arena has scratched Gamboa's fight tomorrow saying he needs to concentrate on his bout vs. Edwards on Feb. 22 (but as it has already been rumoured, Toledo most likely backed out and they couldn't find an adequate late substitude for him like they did last time and were critized big time). So you should look forward watching him in the main event of ESPN FNF on Feb. 22...
Sh*t! Nobody wants to get a beating from Gamboa. But f*ck'em for singing a contract only to chicken out 1 day before the fight. Norwood is a joke and now Toledo too. But Toledo got his a** beaten in the Peterson fight so I don't know what is the problem with another KO loss on his record.
Dammit!!! How the f*ck is it possible they they pull out? They signed a contract right?:huh :fire Means they do have to pay a lot of $$ for doing this:think
Everything is quiet around Gamboa these days... But I'm glad... for the first time in months, Gamboa will actually fight the guy he supposed to fight? Hope no cancellation this time! "Night of the Olympians" in 4 days! GO GAMBOA!
He is very serious. Very. Advanced moves and great speed. Hands very low, but his reflexes are above average. Very good fighter, I enjoy watching him fight.
The sky's the limit for Gamboa- I love this guy's potential.. Hopefully he fixes that hand thing, but he's got the reflexes and explosiveness to cover for it for now. I'm looking forward to seeing him build up some more buzz for himself on FNF this wek.
I've been watching as much Gamboa footage as I've been able to get my hands on for a while now and each time I see him I get more and more impressed. Get him up to lightweight and put him in with Amir Khan then the hype circus that is Khan will come to an end.
Okay guys, I've just made a poll so if You believe that Yuriorkis Gamboa is something special, and you want to be part of the 'Gamboa believers', it's time for yoe to vote and Your name will be known as a 'believer' even before he steps on big the star level..... VOTE = JOIN GAMBOA BELIEVERS N O W !
Gamboa 128.5 Edwards (props to him not chickening out) 130 It's gonna be a 10 rounder. Johnnie Edwards (13-1; 7KO) has never been stopped, his only loss came from the hands of then-undefeated Elio Rojas. Edwards is the guy who gave tough moments to former champ Freddie Norwood last September who responded with low blows and was DQ'd in the 6th. Edwards is ranked at 13th at the WBA/FW rankings.
