You're a moron. Rojas was getting his ass kicked. the ref went to the corner twice to check on him. his right eye was almost completely shut and he was getting hit flush with big shots and wasnt fighting back. You have know idea what you are talking about. Apparently the announcers on Showtime agreed, they called it a good stoppage aswell. You are out of YOUR element here.

Gamboa is no ****ing fraud ass crumb. He may be the most cocky fighter I have ever seen but he has skill and has ring intelligence. He is excellent at reading his opponent and his main flaw is that he is a head hunter and relies too much on his speed and reflexes.

    Let's put it like this.

It wasn't a good stoppage, but it was a humane stoppage.

    Are you people blind? lol

Do you really think Gamboa couldn't KO Rojas from like the beggining?? Gamboa was there having fun all night, not being challenged at all. He did NOT want to KO him. How can you say his power is overrated lol Everytime Rojas was wobbled almost falling with his hands down, Gamboa just step back on purpose, gave him a couple of seconds and then started fighting again. He knew Rojas wasn't a real champ and as he said at the end, he wanted to box more this time to get ready for his next fight.

Honestly, if you people couldn't see this you have some deep hating issues. Rojas was there the whole time just waiting to be KOd and Gamboa let him go the whole fight, he could easily have cornered him with a 30-punch-combo and good night, but he didnt.

Yeah, you are right. First I thought he did not want to get caught with something stupid b/c Rojas was kind of slick and sneaky. But he let him off the hook purposefully to get the work in.

He couldn't have done it without opening himself up to more fire from Rojas.

This was a solid performance from Gamboa. His defense looked sounder, and he got into fewer wildly thrown volleys with wild punches. He still leaves himself wide open at times, but not as often as he has in the past.

Yuri fought smart for a reason, that reason being that Rojas's style and durability make him dangerous, along with his power. Saying Gamboa carried this fight isn't giving Rojas's chin any credit. A lot of fighters don't a) eat the power shots Yuri was landing or b) answer the bell for that long while absorbing an ass whipping. Yuri fought smart, and if you want to see his career continue being successful, you want to see him throwing less of those "30-punch-combos" than more of them. He will keep winning by controlling himself.

Gamboa was fraud . . . because the fight was stopped?

WTF are you thinking? Did you even watched the fight?

Rojas never won a round up to the point of stoppage. The ref approached Rojas' corner and wanted to stop the fight before the round started but the corner people said one more round.

Rojas is starting to engage because the ref wanted to see punches coming from him but he gets tagged repeatedly . . . thus the stoppage. :deal

Sure thing  he could have Ko'd him in the 1st but why would you do that when you can have the most boring fight of the year go to 10 rounds and end it with a bogus stoppage just like he planned all along .

Get a clue. he was missing and missing left and right trying to take his head off the guy was trying to show off more than win the fight that's just terrible and yes he was able to Stun rojas from the start that doesn't mean anything because he wasn't able to take him out.

Nope bro, that's what I thought when it started but I then realised that Gamboa sometimes just stood there in front of Rojas with his hands down waiting to receive a punch. So I don't think he had any concerns about being caught... However I do agree with the rest of your post.

And for that Delsukor dude who posted just before me, you have no clue. Of course he missed a lot, Rojas' defense was great. I wasn't talking about these times. Gamboa wobbled him several times and DIDN'T follow (notice the difference with "not being able to") because he didn't want to, which I didn't understand at first. I then thought he had some kind of compassion towards Rojas or something like that, like it was just an easy sparring session. Then he said it himself at the end, he just wanted to get some real rounds experience for his next fight, which is Chris John, top 10 P4P. At least that's the one he wants, should John accept.

Doesn't matter if he didn't win a round, he was capable of fighting and was not physically in danger. That is all the ref should be concerned about, there was absolutely no cause for the ref to stop the fight and there is no excuse for this action, especially when the fight was opening up and they were starting to exchange.

You all talk about Gamboa unloading combos and being a beast, but he only landed probably 8 shots cleanly the last two rounds, he Rojas was rolling and dodging most of Gamboa's combos.

I say the guy is a fraud because his power is overrated, his chin is weak, and he is undisciplined. If Gamboa was for real he would have ended this fight himself and authoritatively withing 6 rounds.

    just got back from Primm.

    couple of questions,

    1) was Rojas face that bad? I couldn't see that far but my friend could see the swelling over his right eye (supposedly)

    2) Where the hell did they get this belt?

Glad I did not pay for this sh*tfest. God bless will call and free tickets.

Chris John who many consider the best featherweight in the world, who beat JMM couldnt stop Rojas. So Gamboa is overrated because he did stop Rojas. :rofl:rofl:rofl

    Get lost.

I for one . . . I'm not saying that Gamboa is a beast . . . find any post that shows me HYPING Gamboa. :deal

The mere fact that the guy has won a world title only after 15 PRO fights only shows that the guy has serious skills . . . and you idiot call him a fraud ??? 15 Pro fights 13 stoppages . . . what else do you want? The guy has fought opponents who has 46 PRO fights, 30 PRO fight, 27 PRO fights and his latest today . . . Rojas has 32 fights who is much taller than him.

STOP hating man . . . and appreciate his fighting skills . . . weak chin? Undeciplined? . . . well maybe . . . but the guy has not loss yet . . . for christ sake.:-(
