for the extreme Joe C nutthugger who continues to post these idiot threads to jusify his faves career, the anwswer is who knows?

Calzaghe's body of work is nothing to really scream at, and his level of comp is very weak....never fought a great fighter in his prime and spent his best years on a milk run.

How would a prime Calzaghe do against a prime Jones or Hopkins, who knows. Calzaghe didnt face Dawson or Tarver or GlenCoffee Johnson, and his only victory was a disputable one over BHop where he tasted canvas.

Too many questions never answered in a career that could have been more! stop posting idiotic comparisons please.

    LOL

Who did Hopkins fight in HIS prime? You know who Hopkins is,the guy who bottled out of a fight with Calzaghe years back.

He went a career undefeated. Held the record defense for super middleweight.

Beat good fighters like:- Eubank, Reid, Brewer, Woodhall, Mitchell

Beat great fighters like:- Jones, Hopkins and Kessler (although Kessler mayjust be good only time will tell).

Plus if anyone goes down the route Jones and Hopkins were past their respective best then i say so to was Calzaghe.

Plus Hopkins shouldnt have priced himself out the first time.

Calzaghe is the greatest ever 168 fighter, but he isnt the greatest fighter to ever grace the 168 division.

I agree that this is a ****, pointless thread but why do you feel the need to attack Hopkins? Just deride the thread starter.

To highlight the double standard of the posters who criticize Calzaghe about various things but have a convenient blind spot about the same things with regard to Hopkins solely because he American.

I can not believe you put Eubank in the Woodhall/ Brewer category. Eubank in his prime was great not good but JC did beat a washed up but still decent version of Eubank.

Yes but then you just open the door for people to mention Joe's WBO reign, Veit rematch, Pudwill etc. Best not to go there in my opinion.

Ultimately Calzaghe always found a way to win,Hopkins didn`t.

Thats where i was coming from.

The Eubank that Calzaghe fought wasnt the Eubank of yesteryear. Although i believe a prime Calzaghe still beats a prime Eubank:good

Hahaha. Calzaghe certainly never put up performances at the level that Hopkins did. Hopkins in his prime was a much, much better boxer than Calzaghe.

True, but he only ever lost via tight decision. Depends on how much credence you pay an undefeated record I guess. I prefer Hopkins as a boxer personally.
