Theory: The cut is Fury's pre-made excuse for his inevitable loss to Usyk

I don't understand why people are so focused on this fight. Not only are Usyk and Fury past their primes but Usyk has done very little at heavyweight so we have no idea how good he is.

Maybe people should be focusing on young prime contenders in hope they will actually face the best not waste their primes.

So why couldn't fans force Usyk to fight more frequently? Boycott his fights/organize protests, etc

If Usyk was constantly being criticized for it maybe he would fight more often.

Think he likely just did actually get cut in sparring but because of all his past bull**** he's getting hammered for it.

Didnt he accused Haye of faking a cut to get out of their fight. Bit of karma there.

How is Usyk beating Chisora, AJ x2 and Dubios "very little"? Mans only had 5 fights at HW and he's done more than people like Hrgovic.

None of those wins aside from Joshua really mean anything though. He moved to heavyweight way back in 2019 and should have achieved far far more in that time. I don't think he should have bothered with Dubois or Chisora to begin with.

Hrgovic is not the draw Usyk is and is not in any position to force fights with good opponents. Usyk on the other hand could make big fights if he wanted to.

Holyfield moved to heavyweight in 1988. His heavyweight resume through 1993 is a lot more impressive than Usyks.

He's still a unified champ after 5 fights, and is fighting for undisputed for his 6th. How is he supposed to achieve more? Not his fault he's being mucked around by Fury.

I agree with you to an extent. Usyk got leeway because of the Ukraine war and Fury's antics. But like you said above both guys are past prime now and it is holding the division up.

I kind of blame the IBF on this. They tried to force Usyk to fight early last year. But WBA said they were up next. That Dubious fight took way too long though. So as soon as Dubois (WBA) was done, IBF should have called the Hrgovic fight.

So why didn't they? Well Usyk and Fury said they had signed to fight for undisputed in December (which was always a unrealistic date with the Ngannou fight on the horizon). So the IBF backed off.

But again, as soon as Fury cancelled the December date. The IBF should have pulled the trigger on the mandatory challenge for Hrgovic. But they allowed the reschedule.

Then Fury gets cut, and team Usyk even say they want to fight Hrgovic, but the Saudis say no. And it is silence from the IBF.

So I think Usyk would actually fight more frequently, but he is being strung along by the Fury and is tied into the fight by the Saudis.

But yes I agree, I am not excited for Usyk v Fury, I just want it done and out the way so other younger challengers get their shot. I say younger but most of the guys waiting in line are over 30 now. Smh

Fury is ripped? He looks more like the world heavyweight beer chugging champion than world heavyweight boxing champion. Not that how he looks has ever mattered to his performance -- I just found the statement of "they are both ripped" to be weird. Fury is pretty lanky, he'd probably have to get down to 230-240 or so to be lean.

I think he just got cut. He wants to fight , he dose not need more money. Most people would not step anywhere near a boxing ring if they were a multimillionaire like Fury. But that said with a guy like Fury the fight starts before they step in the ring and he is looking to get his opponents off their game and he is good at it.

Fight matchmaking predictions are not the same as spectacularly misjudging a fighter's ability the way you have the generational talent that is Usyk. In any event, yes, Fury has sought out the worst he could find.

I think it will be "Usyk was past his prime" excuse after Fury defeats him.
It was already excuse before first fight with AJ, his fans telling that AJ deserves no credit if he wins cause Usyk is past it now.

I never said any such thing. I picked Usyk both fights.

Yeah maybe not you but it was big narrative before first fight from his fans. I was very impressed with Usyk in first fight and picked him to lose it. Both of them were very good fights from him but I think Tyson will be too much for him but lets see
