There are 83 belt-holders but how many are genuinely World Champions??

Agreed. PacMan & Floyd are legit world champs based simply on accomplishment, and regardless of division hopping etc.

It's staggering out of the 83 or so guys wearing world title belts how many are fringe-dwellers who have little claim to being legit world champions.

Looks remarkably like number 15 on the menu at our local Thai restaurant.

He's a tough little fella who had a nice bout with Koki Kameda earlier this year.

How has there never been a RICO lawsuit against any of these guys for racketeering?

Perhaps the answer is to stop referring to a guy that holds a belt as a champion, and instead refer to him as a beltholder.

    Good point.

83 'world' champions?? I believe the figure is actually double.

Someone else can do the maths...

WBA, WBO, WBC, WBF, WBF, WBU
    IBA, IBU, IBC, IBO, IBF

Take into account the number of titles made available by the WBA... 3 so called Champs in each division where possible. It works great. Half wits like Ash swear by interim World titles.

The list of soup titles extends far beyond the alphabet already listed.
