You're absolutely right, it does. Just for the sake of Pac's legacy, however, you would like to see him be able to win one of the 4 actual recognized belts so he can add the '6' to the ledger if he were to beat Hatton.

As someone else mentioned, it's not that big of a deal. But it would be a nice addition to the fight, to have a title involved.

The 140Ib IBF title is vacant at the moment, right?

I was speaking in terms of current p4p greatness, not all-time greatness. I too place Hopkins and RJJ above him at this point in terms of all-tiem greatness, but Pac is comfortably the greatest right now, ie the p4p#1 IMO. Pac is a multi-weight champ with the same legitimacy that Leonard and Hearns had. If Pac can beat Hatton, Mayweather, and maybe win an actual belt at 147, he would overtake even Jones for me, we're talking serious ATG status then - and this is a distinct possibility IMO.

Pac is only a 5-division champion now on the strength of The Ring belt at featherweight, he never won an actual belt there. So if he is commonly known as a 5-weight champ now (which he is) then it would go to 6 with a win over Hatton IMO.

    Speed kills.

Pacquiao beats Hatton, I feel certain of that, though Hatton would definitely make it a closer and more competitive fight than last night.

You're right, I missed that. Excellent point.

The first Marquez fight was for the WBA and IBF titles, but, of course, it ended in a draw.

This certainly helps your earlier point. Good stuff. :good

Personally, I count The Ring belt as at least equal to any alphabet title. I view Calzaghe as a two-weight champ and Pac as a five-weight champ.
