There is a reason why Cotto will beat Margarito

Cotto didn't use a big body attack, an that could of been a big change in the fight, paul williams landed some nice body shots on margarito,,,but seeing that fight i could see cotto winning a rematch, he might have run for that victory, but i don't think that will bother cotto.

    He certainly can improve.
His chances of improvement are much better than Margo's.
One can expect with good reason to see more of the same Margo style.

Cotto will change his up and be in better condition and stay away from the Heneikens!!!

Anyone that knows boxing could see that Cotto was beaten both mentally and physically and you don't have to be a doctor to notice it.:deal. It's not my fault that you can't pick up the subtle things like Margo running across the ring after taking Cotto's best shots or how Margo looked fresh as a daisy after 10 rounds the look in Cotto's eyes at the end of the mid rounds was the look of a beaten man who knew he was in the fight of his life and no matter how hard he tried it wouldn't be enough. The man was fighting for his life out there man.... Margo is in this man's head.:deal

You think if Cotto went exclusivly to the body. He would be more effective in wearing down Margarito? Cotto never really hurt Margarito despite landing some crunching shots. Plus Cotto should practice at fighting while moving backwards. He didn't look comfortable fighting off his back foot at all. All great Champions could make adjustments and comeback stronger. We'll see how Cotto learns from this experience.

I 100% agree. Margo broke Cotto that night, broke him mentally.

I not only picked him to win, but to stop him. Honestly though, I badly underrated Margo. I wouldn't have thought in a million years that he could've done what he did and the way he did it. Cotto didn't dissappoint me at all, he did exactly what I thought he would. It was just Margo's ability to take the shots and not even slow down or stop once! It was an unbelievable performance and one that should and will be remembered for a long time. The only bad thing that comes from this is that now Cotto is being underrated. He did everything he could've done in there. Boxed beautifully, and landed viscious, fight ending combinations on a man that was just unbreakable on that night.

I agree with almost everything you said except I felt he should have tied Margo up more. I was screeming at the TV wishing he would just tie up Margo. He could have lessened the ammount of punishment he took by doing so or atleast beak up Margo's rhythm.

Cotto could have done a lot of things better than would have turned the fight...

    (1) 2-3 punch combos instead of 4-5 punch combos and get the hell out of there!

    (2) more body shots

    (3) better angles

    (4) tie up Margo on the inside

But that was him before the massacre. Now it's too late. He has been broken like a prison roommate. He is Margarito's *****.

I know Cotto and find that kind of gutter talk very offensive.
If you have had that kind of personal experience of being a b.....
then you might want to keep that to yourself.

Oh Absolutely! I was watching this fight again yesterday. I honestly, and I almost kicked my self in the nuts for this, but was like "where's Wicky Atton when you need him????"

He should have been luring him in, beating him to the punch and then tying up immediately....at least later on in the fight when he began to tire out.
