Foreman was doing a fanatastic job of 'being up on the cards' so surely history remembers him as the winner?

The right answer is 'score cards don't mean ****' of course, consider yourself educated in the ways of boxing. You can have all the points in the world, but if you get knocked the **** out or develop a rather unsightly crevice above your eye due to your opponent punching you in the face repeatedly, you lose. Simple rules really, it's only Klit fans that make them complicated and usually only applicable to Lewis.

Foreman lost, and so did Vitali according to the rules, regardless of what the score-card was. Should we create special rules just to cater to certain fighters? I posted are rules that deal with injury stoppage earlier in the thread. I suggest you read them. Boxing is a sport - not a street brawl. The rules are designed to minimize effect of injuries on the outcome.

As for Ali being up on the cards, sources please. I haven't seen the rumble in the jungle for a while and I've never seen an official scorecard, but Foreman was ahead by my scoring. Regardless of whoever is up on the cards, there are other ways to win a fight and Lewis found one of them while Vitali didn't.

I used to hate the guy, he was destroying my favorite fighters one by one. I ended up liking him after realising the guy is one of the most mentally tough fighter I've seen. He took on the best the division has to offer. During the times when guys like Ruddock, Mercer, Golota, Briggs, Holyfield, Grant, Tua, Vitali looked like taking over the division, he fought them and beat them clearly (with the exception perhaps for Mercer).
