rather, i saw a highly competitive bout that even a non-boxing fan would've been creaming over... Vitali wanting to continue told me enough. As I've said before, I'm a boxing fan, not a humanitarian... I also saw Vitali take an excellent punch at the end of round 6, and walk back to his corner just fine... ....all the more reason why i wish it continued.

That's a bit of a strange response..are you honestly saying you'd want to risk Vitali's vision for your entertainment?

    That's a little extreme don't you think?

So what you're saying is, you would have wanted Vitali to continue (and most likely suffer a career ending injury) just so the fight could have gone on another few rounds?

    That's a bit selfish, dude.

    yawn.

    lewis tko6 vitali.

we all saw a brilliant competitive fight that ended with vitali having half of his face ripped off.

what would have happened next is irrelevant. vitali was deemed unable to continue.

a better debate would be chavez vs taylor.

as for comments about a rematch, what does it matter. is it better for vitali to beat an old shot fighter, or to beat a prime sanders who just twatted his brother to be rated the best active heavyweight in the world? vitali got a better deal from it.

there are other threads for chavez/taylor

as a boxing fan, i fill always find a lewis/vitali rematch much more significant than a Vitali/Sanders bout to avenge the younger brothers loss.

VK gets way too much credit for this fight.

better to beat a current prime, relevant opponent than a shot, faded on his way out legend.

that's why tyson gets more credit for spinks than holmes.

there are other threads for vk/ll also but you decided to spam the front page with this drivel.

these opinions are nothing new, the fight was over 7 years ago. plenty have disagreed on it before. the debate is old and irrelevant considering the fight did not go into round 7.

    Old Lewis?

He was 35 and didn't show any signs of slowing down in his previous fights.

Look at Klitschko now, and no one is calling him old.

Try watching some boxing for once in your life. Lewis was old at 36 and Vitali is way slower than he was when he fought Lewis. Use your bloody eyes for once in your life and actually watch some fights.

I've seen plenty of boxing my friend.

Why can't you just admit Vitali beat your boy, but was robbed of the victory?

What the hell are you going on about? Lewis wasn't 35 he was 3 months short of 38 when he beat Vitali.

I personally thought Lewis looked like he had lost some hand speed when he fought Tyson. I for one have said Vitali has looked old and past his best ever since he fought Kevin Johnson and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Vitali is close to 40 for christ sake, he is clearly passed his best.
