He wouldn't beat them, you're right. He'd kill them and get done for murder.

Joe Louis was one of the greatest heavyweights EVER...yet he did have problems with mobile opponents (Jersey Joe Walcott, Billy Conn). Ali would definitely pose problems for JL. No ko's in this one. I pick Ali by decision.

I don't think it has to do with training today as it does with size and genetics.

But, in all honesty, I just can't agree with your statement that Joe Louis would be beaten by all the top 10 heavies today.

Like Sweat Pea said, the heavyweight division today is among the worst in history.

I understand where you're coming from mate, but you're wrong. Watch Louis fight. I was guilty of having zero respect for olden day fighters in comparisons with fighters of today until I actually started watching a lot of old footage. Louis would be far too skilled for any heavy these days, he would beat them all, even the superheavyweights IMO. I think Lewis would've beaten him, maybe peak Vitali too h2h because of size and strength, but Louis would take the rest of the heavyweights since the peak days of Tyson to school.

You're using flawed logic by assuming that newer=better, you're not actually looking at the state of the HW division today. A bunch of big, fat slobs outside of a few. They hardly fit your description.

So you think that the majority of Sam Peter, Sultan Ibragimov, Oleg Maskaev, John Ruiz, James Toney, Tony Thompson, Chris Arreola, and Juan Carlos Gomez would beat Joe Louis??

You think these guys would make Louis look like he was fighting in "slow motion"? That's insane.

So by the same logic, you think Paul Williams would destroy Sugar Ray Robinson, and that Chris John would outbox Willie Pep?

The Ali of '65 thru '67, in a time machine, was simply too fast and slick for anyone at heavyweight..... Joe Louis and Jack Johnson would eat leather while trying to pin a ghost... Only the '78 thru '80 version of Larry Holmes could compare.... Ali was at his peak between ages 23 to 25, while Holmes hit his peak from ages 29 to 31... BOTH WERE GREAT!

I think a select few of todays heaviers would stop Louis but not 10.

One or two, same with Willie Pep, i think FW Pac would of stopped him.

Old fighters are always the most overrated and current fighters are never appriciated till they retire.

If you're a Joe Louis fan and haven't seen it i recommend "Joe Louis Americas Hero Betrayed"

Louis would get Ali late and TKO him. Nobody put punches together like him, nobody punched as hard and short punches as him. Frazier couldn´t finish Ali when he had him hurt, Louis has more power, is more accurate, better timing, better combinations, is faster and is a better finisher. And he would hurt Ali. Ali has a good chance in there but I´d go with the Brown Bomber.

Louis is head to head one of the best ever, alongside Ali, Holmes, Liston and Lewis.

You're probably right, but had Joe and Rocky, and Dempsy, and Jack Johnson been born now, or if we go strickly by the latest weight classes...that may be a different situation:D:hi::deal
