There IS an excuse when Ward schools Froch

    All fanatical Euros will have a black day when Ward finally stops the Carl Froch cindarella story. But have faith, there IS a perfectly valid excuse to write off Wards soon to be victory.

    CARL IS NOW 35. And he has been in some wars in his career. Since all real boxing fans realize Euband was shot at 31 there is no reason to why the same thing would not apply to Froch. Hell, Froch is soon old enough to be Roy Jones-shot, meaning he can be KO'd without it means a thing :silly

    Stay tuned in for more completly irrelevant and laughable discussions here at ESB. Always worth it :good

    Im surprised you dont get what he is saying.

    Many discredit Calzaghes great win over Eubank and like to say Eubank is shot, even though Eubank was 31 and at a similar time in his career to Kessler etc.

    Froch is 35 and has lost to Kessler, so hes saying the same logic could be applied if Ward were to beat Froch

    I can't quite tell if your mocking this potential excuse or think it's valid but IMO Froch is at his peak right now and it will be laughable if that excuse does come up, which I'm sure it will.

    who cares? if ward clear/(n)ly beats him he is better than froch, no excuses.

    My point is that boxing fans tends to use the term shot far too much, because it makes it possible for them to push their agenda.

    I expect Ward to UD Froch, and even though I am a Froch fan I wont buy any excuse. And I wont do it either when people write off Calzaghes win over Eubank, which in my book is his most career defining fight by far.

    I think Froch is going to lose because..
    1. Froch is far more battle worn than Ward.. Been in tough fights with: Kessler, Taylor and Pascal
    2. Froch is 7 years older.
    3. Froch isnt as skilled or as fast as Ward..
    In the end, Ward being a younger, fresher and more intelligent fighter will win him the fight.

    Weird as most people including Froch fans have Ward as the favourite to win ? Froch hasn't got a huge fanbase in england at all most people wouldn't even know the name.

    I want Froch to win, but I think it will be a close UD to Ward.

    But i wont at all be surprised if Froch does come away the winner, time and time again I have underestimated him, I will not do it again.
