Every week there's threads here of people who have never joined a gym or even worked out, and always they're about one little thing that would lead to great results (do i become as heavy handed as Foreman if i hit a brick wall? I need ONE exercise that will instantly give me a six pack, i've never boxed but how do i become the ultimate streetfighter, etc etc).

HARD WORK PAYS OFF AND THERE IS NO SINGLE "SECRET" THAT WILL BYPASS IT, SO JUST JOIN A GYM, START THE BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS AND STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS!!

It's getting really friggin old. When I figure out how to hack RDJ's account, I'll be deleting those threads after the first 'join a gym' post.

What is the point of having a section dedicated to help and training advice if your only response is going to be 'join a gym'?

Recognize this tool for what it is. THe best people that new people can do on here is read and watch videos and discuss. Telling people to join a gym is practical. But while there visiting there forum they can and should learn from people with experience by sharing your own. Be aware of this or don't participate.

Now there's nothing wrong with a healthy dose of realism, but you all were newbies too once who didn't know necessarily what boxing was all about and what to expect, so cool it with the bs 'veteran' attitude, its getting old.

Anyway, when RDJ gets that FAQ section finished soon it will curb a lot of these repetitive questions from new guys.

are all mugs who are the guys who look for a ultimate fighting

but i got hit by a car last week and feeling surprisingly...nice
are non boxers who want to know how to punch. and i agree they should get to a ****ing gym but the snobbery of Amy, RDJ and me aswell is horrific.

i will always say get to a gym but i think sharing expereinces is the key.

tyhere was a guy who asked what should he witness the first time in the gym and almost all of us said "get to a gym" thats not what he is asking.

i dunno i think my ego is dispiersing and noticing there actual peopel behidn the keys on ths forum

Boxing isn't a sport someone should try to learn on the internet. Joining a gym is the best advice to give someone interested in the sport. If someone is seriously interested, trying to do anything on your own before joining a gym is actually counter productive as you'll invariably pick up a ton of bad habits.
There are plenty of legit threads from guys who are serious and train with a club and their questions are taken seriously. If people think I'm a snob for telling someone not to punch a tree to toughen up their bones then so be it.

There is no better way to learn boxing then from a good trainer at a gym. No argument here.

And there are plenty of things you can't learn via the internet.

    But understand :

Boxing gyms are way harder to come by then back in the day and the same can be said for a good trainer. So if someone doesn't have access to a gym right now, should the forum just be of the opinion that he should forget about boxing? According to you basically that is what he/she should do.

**** that. That does come across as snobbish.

THIS FORUM IS on the internet. Guys aren't on here boxing they are posting. There value in giving advice and holding discussions swapping videos etc.

I think alot of you underestimate the potential for how good of a tool this training forum can be to people.

No idea what you are talking about, I haven't been snobby at all for quite a while. At least not here, the lounge is the lounge but I've been nothing but helpful here. I do have my limits though, if you're referring to the few threads I've closed.

I agree to few posters above, I dont box, and most likely wont have balls soon to start doing it, but I just love studying it, watching it, reading aobut it. Lately situation gotten better, RDJ acutaly became helpfull in many situations "I guess he realised that with power comes great responsability" :yep, but theres still some old timers who just opens thread to post "gag" or ***** about stupid questions.
I realy respect few guys around here who take the time to answer sometimes very obvious and repetative questions, no matter how many times there were posted in the past and every time I read those answers I find new small bits of info that I havent heard about in the past.

I say ppl should be more patient, with newbs, yes its sometimes hard, specialy for those who spend 1/3 of there life here and seen all possible stupid and not questions ( and are ****ing snobby ppl by nature :yep ).
