I agree, but then what happens afterwards when Floyd dominates Pacquaio? Does he also become a bum who is past his best years and would have been more competitive five years earlier?

 

If Floyd dominats Manny (which is not really out of the question) he can retire in peace IMO. What is there to prove? maybe take on the top 140 guys like Bradley or Alexander or the the ultimate challenge and take on Martinez for the lineal middleweight championship.

 

Floyd WILL dominate Manny in my view.

I just don't see Manny landing frequently enough to KO Floyd and I don't see anyone in boxing being able to take a decision. People want to talk about work rate and such but I think you'll see that decreased in the fight against Floyd, if it isn't, I think you'll see Pacquaio take his third KO loss.

 

Yeah it's weird, I'm pretty confident about the result of this potential fight, but I'm still dying to see it...

 

no way Arum lets pac take the floyd fight, people said floyd ducked cotto when in reality Arum didn't want them to fight. Pac will fight margo next and thats it for him. If he takes the fight with floyd he'll get beat up and knocked out.

 

I could care less. This will be an easy fight for Floyd. The fight I wanna see is Haye vs. Wlad.

 

The fight needs to happen. The sport needs it at this time. I hope we see it late this year or early 2011 at the latest.

 

I'd be happy to see Floyd fight Williams, Pac, or Martinez. Any of those three work for me.

 

Oh yeah. It's a little frustrating as a fan sometimes. With all the bickering it's like... why do we even care this much again? And then we watch and see, and that reaffirms why we do.

 

I think to be fair, I would like Manny to have another fight before meeting Mayweather.

But before that, I would like some sort of agreed governing body to sort out the blood and urine testing. Not on Mayweather's terms but a unified version set of rules agreed by everyone. This is only fair and takes away the ego trip that some guy seems to be having about his crusade to 'clean up the sport'.

Another fight prior to the Mayweather clash would then settle Manny into some sort of familiarity about testing and would better prepare him for the Big One. Mayweather has already had that psychological advantage of knowing what it might entail. It would be foolish for Manny to do it for the first time for the Big One, I feel.

But the question rests on how many fights Manny has left - whether that is dependent on his political ambitions, or desire to fight on when there's only one mega fight left.

I hope this is the route it will go. Manny takes on someone of note - maybe Berto or Williams - then the Mega Fight.

 

Because floyd has power right? And because Manny's been KO'ed before with a headshot? Because he's been KO'ed within the past 10 years?

I agree with all of you. If you analyze the two fighters Floyd ought to beat Pac. Physically, mentally and skill wise Floyd looks better than Pac.

But then again who asked for pseudo-olympic testing?
