He can retire whenever he wants, it's his life. It's just that there are so many possible matchups there to be made. And it's not like he's old or anything. He's in his prime. He retires now and stays retired, there will be a ton of 'what if's' arounf his name and legacy. Either way, I doubt ANYONE can satisfy the ego on Floyd to pay him what he thinks he's worth. My guess is most any fights w/ him will end at the negotiating table.

I don't dislike either fighter. I was actually impressed with Margarito's heart to keep trying to get inside on a 6'1 (he looks taller) fighter throwing 100 punches, and I was impressed by Williams heart in the 12th round, a round he has never been to, pulling it together and going for broke. I had Williams winning 8-4, but picked Margarito to win the fight.

I said it before the fight and it doesn't matter the outcome. I think no matter what PBF beats Margarito (even if he had beaten Williams). But I think Williams can and most likely will beat PBF. (Even if he had lost)

Cintron also looked rejuvenated and much leaner.

I agree, I have a feeling Williams will be the guy to beat PBF and I'm not attempting to overrate the kid. I've been saying that exact thing for some time.

I know its cliche but I'll say it anyway. Styles make fights and williams style can give pbf fits

I've been a fan of Williams ever since I first saw him fight last year. I bet money for him to beat Margie and on Monday I collected from all 3 people, so I will continue to be a fan of his. Now I have beer money for at least 2 weeks. Thanks Paul!!!

Margarito landed the much more damaging punches, but the judges had already filled out their card in advance. Talk about holding...........

I like Margarito more than Williams, the loss pissed me off a little but what the heck it was a very good fight non the less and thats what I want to watch.

I also like margo. Even though i dont support margo all that much on these boards, i am a fan and with more reason after his tremendous effort this past weekend that fell just short. i also like williams now as i had never seen him fight before. i agree though, all the fake williams fans are just pbf fanboys.

Pea, surely you can see the stylistic nightmare for mayweather that Paul Williams is. A volume punching southpaw with incredible reach. Mayweather doesn't like taking risks, and would be forced to work at a much higher rate then usual to try to get a decision against Williams. Not only this, but because of the reach of Williams, he will have a lot of difficulty negating the Williams jab, and will have to somehow get inside to land counters to get the job done. For a naturally defensive counter puncher this will be VERY TOUGH. If this fight ever happens Paul Williams would be a very live under dog. Mayweather will have to rely on his speed to pull him through, and even then he is going to have to be at his best to get the win. Williams isn't great, in fact I think Cotto would destroy him, but against the right fighter he will prove to be an absolute handful.

BTW i am definitely a Paul Williams fan and said so before the fight. I like the way he fights, and still for a tall fighter looks to change up the range on his punches, slip and move and change the pace on his shots. I think he sets up guys nicely and for a guy who had a limited amatuer career I think he has an absolute tonne of potential.

I've been a Paul Williams fan since the first fight of his that was shown in the UK which was Sharmba Mitchell. And the Margarito fight actually gained Margo some respect in my eyes as up until that point I'd let some of his fans (the obsessisve nuthugging variety) prejudice me against him.
