Yesterday, judging from some of the posters' comments, I had the impression that people felt JMM got robbed against Chris John, so I downloaded the fight and scored it carefully.

First of all I'd like to say that its a really good fight between 2 elite fighters!

    round 1 >> 10 - 9 for John
    round 2 >> 10 - 9 for Marquez
    round 3 >> 10 - 9 for John
    round 4 >> 10 - 9 for John
    round 5 >> 10 - 9 for Marquez
    round 6 >> 10 - 9 for John
    round 7 >> 10 - 9 for John
    round 8 >> 10 - 9 for John
    round 9 >> 10 - 9 for Marquez
    round 10 > 9 - 9
    round 11 > 10 - 8 for John
    round 12 > 10 - 9 for Marquez

    TOTAL Chris John 115 - 111 JMM

I have Marquez winning 3 of the last 4 rounds but he was deducted 2 points, which is brutal in such a close fight. The deductions were very fair btw. Marquez was warned twice before the first deduction, and Chris John was not given much time at all to recover from the low blows.

Points I'd like to make about the fighters.

Judging from this fight, Chris John has a better defense than Marquez and is a better counterpuncher. He blocked almost all of Marquez's punches with his gloves and arms, and is very quick to retaliate after blocking punch or a series of punches.

Marquez is the stronger fighter and has the better balance (more solid on his feet). On the rare occassions he landed a good shot on John it had more effect than when John landed on Marquez. Also alot of the punches that John blocked still made John move backwards.

Chris John also has the better jab of the two.

All in all its a damn good fight and a fair decision. I can understand the judges had wider scoring margins for John as usually judges are slightly affected by the hometown crowd, and many of the rounds were quite close.

No unbiased fan can call this fight a roberry. I doubt any non-mexican or non-american fans would consider this a roberry.

I really need to see this fight. I've heard people say Marquez won, John won, and that nobody deserved to win.

This fight was a damn robbery, where did you place your eyeballs for this fight.

I scored it 8 rounds to 2, with 2 even. ****ing robbery.

When I first heard of CJ beating JMM I thought there was a new monster at the featherweight division, and downloaded the fight to watch a masterful performance from CJ only to watch the right man get robbed.

    Are you kidding man?

    Marquez won this fight...

The fouls were actually very much fouls, and Marquez deserved the point deductions, but he won that fight.

    Bad robbery.

   :nut :nut :nut Take who the thread starter is into consideration!:nut
He's a known Marquez hater on this board!:yep

Props to you pharaoh if you indeed upload and spread the fight around to those who have'nt seen it.
Iv'e tried that on several occasions, but since I have the 700mb version, I dont know of any host where I can upload it for free.

I even split the fight up in four pieces, uploaded it, but I found that others were having trouble downloading from the host.

Indeed upload the fight so that others can see you joke of a scorecard.

Plain and simple, in his own backyard, Chris John fought a survival fight.
John actually fought a survival fight that would make MAB's rematch performance vs Pac look like an all out brawl.

Their is'nt a single boxing category in which John beat JMM in....jabs, powershots, defense, ring generalship, you name it and JMM clearly beat John by a wide margin.
A more wider margin than Pac beat Barrera in!

The point deductions for low blows were bogus, they were borderline shots at the beltline which are legal.
The one time where Marquez legitly went low, the ref did'nt see it and did'nt make a call.

.....by all mean Pharaoh, upload the fight, and if you can send me the link, I'll gladly spread it around to those who want to see it!:deal :yep

A rematch might settle the issue.

If you see the fight, you'll know that a rematch is'nt necessary.
It was'nt even close to competitive.

A complete survival fight from Chris John, not even John's own family would want to see it again!
