There is no way Maidina can win, it is too hard to land Flush on a fast skilled boxer

  1. Khan is garbage. In 36 minutes of fighting he's bound to make a few mistakes. Especially if he gets tired from all the running he'll have to do. Even if he gets past Maidana, there's no way he'll get past a guy like Victor Ortiz or any other of the skilled 140 pounders. Ortiz is too much for a fighter like Khan.

I can't believe people are acting like "KHAN" is PBF or someone who minimumly gets tagged in a fight. I believe Khans best chance is to all out destroy Maidana early as he did Salita which created this whole craze about him. But as the fight goes on much so like Maliggnagi,he stops throwing his barrages of 3,4,5,hit combinations and doesn't tire but becomes not as active. Maidana isn't no amateur chump how so many are portraying him to be. He has good speed. Hes not a good technician but he in no way is bad at it. Plus he has a hell of a right hand which is all he really needs in this fight. Khan can get countered easily as we all saw in the Maliggnagi fight. I doubt he has the discipline to box a full fight like Floyd or Sweetpea or anyone else who truly deserves to be labeled a pure boxer. Khan's offense is his defense. It still doesn't take from the fact that he has no defense.

You fan boys are the reason for the hate of Khan. When he gets slid again please shut the **** up about him for atleast a good half year for those of us who have had to listen to this bull**** for awhile now.:good

    Khan isn't a Mayweather.

He still as a lot of holes in his defence, which Maidana is more than capable of exploiting. This is far from a walk in the park for Khan.

I think this will be an exciting fight whilst it lasts...even if it goes the full distance as you never know if that 1 shot is gonna land and against Maidana its clearly only 1 good flush shot that is needed. This is a fight were you cant afford to blink because it could be over at any second. Khan could be absolutely embarrassing him then BANG! Lights out! Thats how this could be! How can that not be exciting? When you have a monster power puncher in Maidana and a skilled boxer with a suspect chin you cant not be interested in this one!

Still that said I will go for Khan on points or mid-late round TKO. It will be interesting watching how Khan tackles Maidana...I do expect him to run and keep it on the outside and maybe pick him apart with lots of jabs and one-twos.

That is such bull****. You honestly think his performance against Malignaggi was the best he'll ever do? Because Maidana will wreck him if he shows up to fight like he did then.

Roach is not God. He doesn't know secret things other coaches don't know. He's just a very good trainer. 90% or more is up to the fighter.

Also, I don't care how good Khan is, he isn't avoiding Maidana for 12 rounds. Khan either blows him out early or shows a much-improved chin and stops him late/gets a decision. The Khan that we know is not capable of standing up to that kind of power for 12 rounds. Or 1 round, actually.

Khan's defence has always been leaky. It has only recently begun to improve under Roach's guidance, but it's still nowhere near top quality. Maidana has the speed, tenacity and general ability to land flush more than once -- Khan has to be very careful in this one. He has to fight him the way he fought Kotelnik, even though Kotelnik is a very different style to Maidana. In that fight Khan boxed on the back foot, used continual movement, a high, tight guard, and fired combinations to discourage aggression before shelling up once more and moving. Those are basically the keys here -- focusing on speed, movement around the ring, and outboxing rather than outslugging. Khan has to make sure to use his jab more than any other punch, too -- it should be vital in checking Maidana and keeping him 'honest'. It's by no means an easy fight.

Maidana needs to lure Khan into fighting off the front foot -- he needs to try and land one of his crushing punches in the small gap between when Khan opens his shell and when he closes up again. So Maidana basically needs to hit Khan when Khan is in the middle of throwing his own punches -- the same strategy that Prescott used. The only problem is that Khan is much better now than he was then, and he has a smart coach in the corner, so Maidana will find it difficult to lure Khan in for a big shot. His best bet is probably to keep going to the body to start with, which will lower Khan's high guard, and then sneak in one of his overhead looping shots up top.
