There is not enough respect shown towards great offensive fighters.

You are a complete idiot, so if you coached a gym would you encourage all your fighters to come in chin first and have a ****ty defense?? Wtf are you getting at. Its like your saying a "hey, you are a good defensive fighter but stop with the defense and go in head first" .

Its this easy, some fighters are defensive and some are fighters. I'm not going to call one a wuss because all fighters who step in the ring deserve the utmost respect from all of us here. You make no sense, and its clear you lost this argument by falling back on trash talking.

You think brawlers purposely take punches to prove something? They just lack defense and I'm sure if they could they would avoid as many incoming punches and dish theirs out.

I'm not a biased goupie like you. I been watching boxing for a long time and have developed a liking to all kinds of styles. You must be a newbie probably brought on by pac.

And I'm Mexican, proud of all the champs/warriors and boxers to come out of mex. Dose not mean I have to be biased like you troll.

You still can't comprehend such simple sentence structure that I provided for you.

    Aggressive defense.

D E F E N S E. Look that up. Apparently, you don't understand that word, so do yourself a favor and look it up.

If you truly want to be a multi-dimensional fighter, you cannot rely on one type of defense, especially as you go up in weight.

If Rigo is content with staying at his weight class and not fighting on a network, that's his prerogative.

It's his career. He knows what's best for him. Life is all about decisions.

I understand what you are saying troll but you don't comprehend that some fighters aren't suited for "aggressive defense" . if you didn't know, boxing can also be won on points that implement the boxing score system, Look that up its also possible to win by outboxing a opponent with out taking unnecessary risk. Pac was well on his way to a possible win against jmm had he not took that one shot that got him ktfo6. Go preach to pac and encourage him to keep doing that.

Rigo was wanted by mares and Leo @ golden boy. He got their attention but ol Bob arum has his chains wrapped around him. Odlh even said they offered arum step aside money but arum stuck to his ways and ruined the possible fights. I'm sure Rigo is not worried about some trolls opinion on a internet site .

By YOUR OWN definition of what boxing 'is', you should be the biggest Mayweather fan on this forum, as he currently unrivaled in both.

It sounds good but that ain't nothing but garbage. Offense and defense go hand in hand. Offense just happens to be Pac's strong suit. He can't fight going backwards. Mayweather can do it all and is just as strong in offense as well as defense. If you stop coming at Maywweather, he will start coming at you and that's a fact. Mayweather is the most complete fighter in the game today and that's why he's greater than Pac.

Far too much respect is paid toward offensive fighters.

They get overrated before ever proving themselves in the ring to the level that their fans boast about them and pretend they have achieved. It happens time and time again. Rarely is that the case with a high quality defensive or movement-based fighter.

if all fighters are trained to fight like rigo or floyd, you would end up having fights like this.

Again, he's undefeated and makes money hand over fist. He is the epitome of what YOU say boxing is.

Stop hating and live into your own definitions.

I agree with much of what you stated BUT Floyd would be and still is great without talking trash:yep

You make some valid points that it takes two to fight and Manny did come out of nowhere and became a great. Yeah he had some early and recent setbacks but I still love watching the PAC MAN eat EM up bro:good

I think the offensive boxers get plenty of respect. They are always the fan favorites even in this period when appreciation of defensive boxing is at an all time high. Right now, Floyd Mayweather, Guillermo Rigondeaux, and Andre Ward have a lot of fans, but probably not more than Wladimir Klitschko, Gennady Golovkin, Sergey Kovalev, Manny Pacquiao, or Roman Gonzalez.

In the nineties Pernell Whitaker wasn't as popular as Roy Jones, or Mike Tyson. Your Dempsey's, Foster's, Duran's, Hagler's, Pryor's, will always get plenty of love.
