My Gamboa thoughts thread was very long and I'm still up at 6 AM here, so I'll just try to keep a thread short for once. Mijares would shut down everything that Donaire has used in the past to win fights.. his entire offense/defense would be made completely ineffective and Mijares would destroy him while doing it with ease. I can't believe that a lot of pretty knowledgable posters on this site pick Donaire to beat Mijares. Could anyone even argue logically how Donaire could win a round against him? It sucks that the Mijares fight wasn't on HBO or Showtime tonight. That was by far the most impressive performance tonight and one of the most impressive performances of the year. But I'm starting to ramble on now like I did in the Gamboa thread, so staying with the Donaire subject, how could Donaire possibly win 1 round against Mijares (unless Mijares just decided to give him one for free by doing nothing), let alone make the fight semi-competitive? A win is out of the question.
surprise...surprise... first it was gamboa, now, it's mijares... i see a certain pattern emerging here, an amsterdam-nuthugging pattern... next, you'll probably talk about guzman... wait, it already says in your avatar that "guzman will be an ATG."
yeah all these ****ers agree with each other then call themselves the 'elite'. load of crap. donaire will not be stopped but i see mijares edging him out via decision as of the moment
I'm a bigger fan of Donaire than Mijares, and imo Donaire has more skill, but right now i think that Mijares would win a close UD. First of all its a bad style matchup for Donaire and secondly Mijares has a ton of experience and is mentally just more on top of his game right now.
It would go to the cards. And Mijares would win, he is far superior in the craft. However, he could get robbed. SD anyone?
These SD's for Mijares are robberies in their own right. His scorecards should reflect a domination, not a close fight.
