There needs to be more pure defensive fighters, there's a huge lack of em.

    The skill level of this era is really depreciating. There doesn't seem to be many good defensive fighters now, like Floyd.

    There should be more pure defensive fighters.

    Maybe more like feather weight Floyd, defensively/offensive if that makes sense.
    1. Take Amir Imam for instance if he had just 1/2 of a defensive mind he could have beaten Granados.
    2. Willie Monroe Jr. had a lil Defense he could have survived Golovkin.
    3. Quillin getting chin checked by Jacobs, there was an outcry for him to better his defense.
    4. Huck getting KTFO , Chavez Jr. getting beat to shreds, Bradley getting stunned by Vargas:patsch, etc.

    I agree to a point but, you will receive hate for this. As soon as a guy gets knocked out or beat to a pulp people scream that the fighter was dumb or should have trained to be more defensive. Yet they hate defensive fighters.

    Yes, they all should be defensive and counterpunchers as well. Can you imagine how great boxing would be?! :wooo

    No more defensive fighters if they don't wish to outpoint by fighting.
    Amateur like pointscorers like Money Mayweather and Lara are not welcome.
    Defensive fighters like Whitaker, Pep and Benitez certainly are welcome.

    Eroll Spense jr has mad defensive skills along with great offensive skills.
    Same with trip G, most on here don't or can't understand or grasp how defensive competent those 2 are because their offense is so sickeningly great.

    Some of you claim trip G gets hit too much. ...
    He only gets hit after he knows the opponent can't hurt him.. prove me wrong, show me one instance that trip G was hit cleanly by a shot he did not fully expect coming in.

    Neither of them are hit by shots that weren't expected. Those are the only types of shots that have a chance at hurting those 2 granite chinned far superior skilled fighters out there

    No. There is no amount of defense that could have had Monroe survive, short of having the boxing ring being the size of a soccer field.
