There needs to be more pure defensive fighters, there's a huge lack of em.

One Defensive fighter per a generation is enough

Every defensive fighter usually has a major problem, the religious use of defense is a necessity to compensate. If Sugar Ray Robinson wanted to be a defensive wizard at 147 he could have been impossible to tag.

Rigo is a perfect example of a capable accurate KO puncher, but Rigo mind is hard wired to always box like Castro is waiting for the medal.

If Toney was a Welterweight he would have ended fighters much more earlier using explosive counters, but he ballooned to Heavyweight where his power was average at best & all he had left was his skills going against his small frame

Floyd's one of the greatest defensive fighters in the history of the sport. He's cut from the same cloth as men like Pep, Benny Leonard and Whitaker.

You can't expect their to be fighters of that ilk too often; you're literally talking about a once in a generation type of fighter.

A guy as rangy as Wilder who goes extremely defensive, needs to take the Wlad blueprint & make the hugs more explosive....Wlad improved the Ruiz classic hug, Wilder can make the Wlad power hug concussive, mainly he needs to add 15 lbs muscle to his torso to be able to execute power hugs & work his jab of it in & out of hugs :think

    Or

He could do what he does best & remain an exciting KO puncher :bbb

It is easier to avoid punches than to land punches

So we need more fighters who are great at landing lots of punches, that there is the most difficult skill

GGG takes a few punches, but his defence is underrated, he rarely gets caught flush or wobbled ( because the chin is tucked in, he is balanced )

And he lands a lot of punches

Hopefully he gets the chance against some big names, because we need more of this type of boxer
