I don't get how we can have these guys who literally cannot read get on TV and start spitting out BS.

How articulate can you be if you cannot read? Guys like Atlas, Mayweather, Paulie, Morales are so poorly articulate because they are so ridiculously ignorant.

We really need at least an associate degree requirement to get on TV and talking about boxing. Really, a bachelor's would be preferred.

Paulie is a pretty sharp guy imo, you can tell he's not lacking in the brains department.

Great idea. Hoe many guys with pro boxing experience have BAs? How many of those guys would be able to offer worthwhile ****ysis on a pro fight?

Most boxers with degrees come from Eastern Europe, and none of them speak English well enough to become commentators....

Depends on the role. For the play-by-play guy, it makes sense to have somebody with a broadcasting/communications degree.

For the expert commentator role, you should have somebody with the journalism degree and actual boxing journalism experience.

But for the participant expert role, come on - what you want are guys who have had actual experience IN the sport, as boxers, trainers, etc. And most of these guys will not have college degrees.

Each role brings a different perspective/orientation to the team, and this gives a more well-rounded picture of the action.

I haven't heard Morales commentate though. But the guy can't elaborate worth anything. One guy asked him if he hates Barrera his response "He's a motherf'er, it's that simple".

We have HBO, Showtime, ESPN and now PBC. There aren't a whole lot of commentating jobs available. I'd rather listen to a former journeyman who doesn't trip over his own words instead of a former world champ.

Being in boxing is different than communicating boxing. I could care less if you're an illiterate boxer. Just box then.

Paulie has forgot more about boxing than you will probably ever know. You probably never have even laced up a pair of gloves and yet feel like you know more about boxing than someone that has boxed on a competitive level for most of their life. You don't like Paulie because he speaks his mind about Pac. At least be honest about it. It really is hard to take some of you guys seriously.

Paulie is a pro boxer. What he should do is box.

Paulie is fairly eloquent and he knows his boxing, I don't see any problem. Who do you think should provide color commentary? Guys who never laced up a pair of gloves and don't know **** about boxing but at least finished college?

Weak reply. I trust the opinion of someone who has been in the ring than some nerd that has never stepped inside the ring. Paulie is commenting on boxing not chaos theory.

Guys who should be commentating should be guys with at least some college education and former pro boxers.

Put guys in there like Algieri.

The reason our top guys are in boxing and not the NFL or NBA is because they didn't go to college. Think about it. They don't lack for athleticism. All those NFL and NBA guys get drafted out of college leagues. A lot of our guys are either drop outs, or they had prison records, or like they had a baby in high school and had to get a job.
