Lorenzo is a very powerful heavyhanded boxer puncher who likes to go too the body but has only fought club fighters so far:deal Giovanni vs Kelly would be a great style match up, a real slugfest that would end up with a KO:bbb

Pavlik seems sort of stuck here, he needs a fight before fighting Abraham and there's no one for his first title defence. Winky won't fight, Duddy was pathetic against Smichet, and Abraham already has a fight scheduled soon, so he can't skip ahead to him. Also Andy Lee simply isn't ready to make that kind of jump to Pavlik, I know there's been talk but he's only beat bums so far.

Winky wont fight ???? Last I heard Winky wants the fight. Pavlik wont fight (money of course) so he has to go take Sturms title now. Pavlik doesnt want to be beat by Winky for low money when he could fight a tomatoe can then wait for Jones or Tito to come down for big money.

Well, I'm sure Pavlik/Arum went through this from the other side and feels it is now his/their turn to take advantage of being on top. It is still a business.

But to backtrack to a previous thread about Pavlik/Wright. Arum knows the market forces. He seemed to think that the money just wasn't there for a P/W matchup at this time, in spite of Winky SAYING Pavlik could have the "lions share". If you fight over a rabbit, the lions share is ALL! ;)

I would not mind seeing this for i have heard the first fight was an all out slugfest. Pavlik even got dropped in this one too.

Zuniga deserves a shot about 349834567945867495687 times more then that Lorenzo dude with the padded record.

Aren't Lockett and Lorenzo his mandatories?

He's got to face them sooner or later, might as well do it now.

Let Abraham get some Hbo and American exposure.

Let Winky shake off some rust.

Both of those fights can build into something big.

I still think Rubio would be fun while it lasted. He comes for the knock out most fights.

Griffin just doesn't match up well and Zuniga, we've seen that, not that I'd mind seeing it again.

More choices=better $ options for Arum.

Arum wants a routine title defense for Pavlik. A low risk fight that makes sense financially. Lorenzo has not fought anyone even close to Zuniga. In my book Zuniga is ranked much to low. He would beat Duddy and Sturm, and would be a tough night for Abraham. Taylor obviously gave Pavlik his two toughest fights, but Zuniga is next in line after JT. In addition Zuniga has not lost since he lost to Pavlik. This would be an action packed fight with Zuniga trying to make the fight happen on the inside while Kelly worked his ass off trying to keep Zuniga on the end of his jab. This is a good fight that does make sense.

If Winky can entice Sturm to fight him, Winky will capture the WBA belt. In the meantime, Abraham will fight in the USA, and start getting some exposure on the big stage. Plus Andy Lee is signing with Top Rank under the stipulation that he appear on two Pavlik undercards, and gets a shot at Pav down the road.

    Pavlik/Zuniga
    Wright/Sturm
    Abraham/Lorenzo
    Andy Lee/John Duddy
    Pavlik/Abraham
    Pavlik/Wright
    Pavlik/Lee

    160 could be heating up:yep

And by the way, since I said Lorenzo hasn't fought anyone even close to Zuniga, take a look at this video. This is what happens when a hyped up prospect with a padded record climbs in the ring with Zuniga.

Zuniga? Lorenzo? Weren't those two supposed to fight each other for a mandatory shot at Abraham's title?
And now they're both in the running for Pavlik's next voluntary defense??? :think

No it wasn't Lorenzo. I do not recall who it was, but he had to pull out due to an injury.
