Golovkin said that Brook can't punch, has no power...........Golovkin would knock Spence out cold....................Spence will not beat Porter, perhaps the judges will give Spence a gift, but Porter might knock him out, Thurman will beat Spence. Spence is not in the same class as Ray Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, nor even the light weight Duran, no where near their class..............................better defense than Wilfredo Benitiz? Hell now.................faster than Leonard, no way, more power than Hearns, no, nor Duran, nor so many others........
Two risky fights by the age of 31. And let's face it the GGG fight was a calculated risk. So NO, nothing "special" about that either.
Discredeting fighters who bring back life to the sport? Then go celebrate Wilder instead. Lets hope fights like this isnt happening again!
No i dont think we are. It was very close and competitive for alot of the fight. Spence is the Truth, he showed it but he far from schooled Brook. We saw definatly 2 of the 3 best Welters and likely 2 of the best 2. But some bell ends have to come on places like this and try to belittle the loser of a fight.
If Brook was never special then Spence is nothing special either, which is what I believe is the case. Brook is a tidy boxer, I don't think he's the most gifted Ingle boxer but he's the best form a technical stand point and that took him a long way despite lacking huge power or blinding speed. Spence struggled and had Brook not tired, partly due to Spence's body work but more likely due to Brook struggling to make weight Spence could very well have lost last night. Brook gained 18lbs if what the commentary team said was correct, it clearly took something out of him after the 6th. Spence has flaws, this was the first time he stepped up to world level and he looked beatable to me.
Brook has had 3(count em, 3) good opponents his whole career. He barely got past one, and was obliterated by the other 2. If some of you really believe that qualifies him as "Special" then you are in serious need of revising your standards.
Ofcourse he isnt "special" dont take it too literally. Do you think people think Deontay Wilder is Bronze? Do you think people really think Andre Ward is Jesus? Just looks like your trying to **** on his career. He is an elite level Boxer and in this division is in the top 2 or 3. Maybe you are just one of these idiots who think if your not 1st you are last.
I never thought that he is special in any possible way, clinches a lot and is big for 147,thats about it,smart clinching. He has above average power and isnt some defensive wizard either. Not impressed with his stamina as well, probably because of the effort he puts to make 147. Not super fast or some other impressive quality, hes on same level as Danny Garcia and Porter for me,below Thurman and Spence in other words.Wont have any success at 154,its weak division but guys are way bigger than him in there.
Yet you're the idiot getting butthurt over this. The " implies we are not being literal here. But good, you agree Brook is not "special" so you have nothing to argue then.
A. Boxer avoids biggest threat = Called out for ducking B. Boxer takes on biggest threat and loses = He was never any good Some people need to follow other sports. Brook lost to a terrific boxer in, for the large part, an excellent and competitive bout. So I'll just thank him and Spence for taking the risks they did in taking this fight, and move on from this all-too-predictable thread...
come on, brooks fought three world class opponents, and lost to 2 of them. hes not great, hes fringe world class.
lol but to be fair Kell is not elite. elite means you beat everyone but elites. thats not kells record. hes world class, but 2nd level world.
Not sure why he's below Thurman on the same level as Porter considering he beat Porter and did it more convincingly than Thurman.
I agree, it's just Brook's win resume is not impressive and doesn't look like it will get better now. Still think he is the biggest Welterweight since Paul Williams and of the last 10 years. Would like to see him in against Liam Williams/Liam Smith at 154 and then with any of the top guys at 154.
