It just wouldn't happen, just read judges had Wilder up by 1 round..................
The ref was Wilders ballsack, let him hold on to Ortiz when badly hurt, giving Wilder too much time to recover, at least that redeems the sour taste because Ortiz was just not winning this fight.

When Ortiz was wrestled to the canvas the ref gave him no time to recuperate and waved the action on to help Wilder.

I wanted wilder to win healthy for HW div etc but it was a bit ridiculous how much the cards were stacked in his favour. But then who didn’t expect that I guess

I had Ortiz up but Wilder by one round is hardly a travesty. Ortiz was given every opportunity after being hurt just like Wilder was. Let’s not call conspiracy after every fight. Ortiz had his chance and had Wilder an inch from defeat and got beat fair.

He ****ed up in that round after he almost had Wilder out. Wilder was staggering all over the place on jelly legs. He had no power for that round and his legs were GONE. Ortiz should have just gambled and gone all out then and there.

Yep, but it's hard to say, at that moment in the fight I thought he was on his way to victory but there is always that threat of Wilder's power, who knows how it would have gone had he put it all on the line in round 8.

I’ve always said about re Wilder that you’ve gotta admire the mans tenacity in that despite being technically inferior to just about everyone he always finds a way to win.
