Even though I am not a fan of either fighter tonight, I am excited because this is what we need not only for the Heavyweight dvision, but for boxing in general.

A true champ will not be crowned tonight, but we will be one step closer. The belts are ****ing terrible, but this is the way to determine who is the true champ (at least in this division).

So tonight we should celebrate. Let's get totally **** faced drunk, and salute whomever the unified champ turns out to be.

    Cheers:good

i like the idea of there being unification but something i dont like is them continuing to compare wlad with ivan drago. drago is viewed at least here in america as pure communist evil. from everything ive read and seen about wlad is that he is humble, and one of the most personable fighters out there. he seems like a genuinely nice fellow and i am rooting for him. Another thing i dont understand is the amount of hatred alot of posters on here have for him. why? he had stamina and possibly panic issues early in his career but has gotten over them with better conditioning and training. be happy for the guy not to mention that he is purely living up to the hype attributed to him a few years ago

As a noted WALD hater, I can say that many people here in America wrote him off as a joke after his horrific KO losses to less than stellar fighters.

We saw this buildup for the "Great White Hope", but his lack of chin made people not believe in his dominance, despite some very good wins. And also, considering his terrible English and generally doofy manner, he is easy to make fun of.

But seriously speaking, I realize he is a better fighter now, he has improved greatly, and concede that he is probably the best in the division. I believe he will win tonight as well, and by brutal KO at that.

Should we consider this a triple title unification IBF-IBO-WBO to make things even more inflated?
