You dont know the history of boxing. Jack Dempsey came in out of nowhere and took the sport from a real low point and gave it life again. This stuff happens all the time. Highs and lows.

Most American prisons today are, unbelievably, privately owned. They get paid by the government & so make a profit on every prisoner. (our tax dollars at work.) That means there's a financial incentive to keep prisoners IN prison. Sentences are routinely longer, and paroles are much harder to get. This is a fact.

So, a lot of those tough dudes who in 1965 might have been released at 25 years old are now not getting out until they're too old to do anything in the sport.

 

I sure hope so, watching americans crying about the HW division never gets old
