:good All and all, pretty disappointing fight (Ortiz could take the fight to Floyd) and an ridicilous ending (that´s Ortiz´s own fault 90%, headbutts and looking Cortes for help).
Respect is not the same thing as sportsmanship. Like I said, Im torn on how to feel about this.... Part of me agrees that Floyd was in the right, even if it wa less than honorable. Another part of me says that that's not how champions fight and it was a dirty tactic.... I just dont know what to think about it. Maybe with a lil more passage of time, my opinion will become clearer. I mentioned this in one of those Cortez threads, but my biggest beef as of last night was Cortez's quick 10 count
i am not a pbf fan but ortiz needed to protect himself at all time. ortiz intentionally tried to headbut pbf and then followed with a left cross. pbf had every right to do what he did. i was in mexico in a Mexican bar and aftere they slow-motioned the headbut and then slow-motioned pbf's cold-****, noone complained or booed pbf. not one Mexican. ortiz was on his was to a beatdown and took the easy way out. i had pbf at 12-1 odds winning the fight from rounds 8-12 and would have surely won if not for ortiz bailing out of the fight.
Ortiz was the ***** getting schooled and couldn't land anything on Floyd so he threw a headbutt. WTF was that about. He probably was having the best moment of the fight for him and he ruined it. Ortiz should have had his hands up, he already kissed Mayweather, then went in for another hug and should have been far more aware when your in with a veteran like Floyd. If Ortiz hadn't butted Floyd then none of this would have happened. And if you headbutt the p4p #1 expect to get smashed for it, thats exactly what he got and what he deserved Floyd ws schooling Victor with that right hand, just on different levels
I disagree. This was my immediate reaction though. So I'm gonna have to rewatch the fight. Maybe I'll see somethin different. Until then, I stand by my assertion that Cortez's count was quick.
Nothing can be said better than this. What Floyd earned was a victory with no meaning at all. A big disappointment for true fans of the sport.
And Ortiz? No reason to defend him. He fought dirty and was just plain stupid. Whatever respect I had for him went down the drain. This is the kind of fight that leaves a bad taste to fans who love the sport of boxing.
would you rather be the dishonorable winner or the honorable guy on your back for being a naive ****ing idiot, it happened to me as an amateur, stuck the glove out to apologise for a low blow and got my nose broken... well, he was perfectly within his rights to do such a thing, and thast was AMATEUR boxing.
""Get up, Prince of Troy. Get up! I won't let a stone take my glory!" says Achilles" in one of the most unrealistic fight scenes in cinema history....
Honor went out the window the minute headbutts started flying. The only dishonorable action was that of V. Ortiz. Boxing fans are becoming a bunch of ****ing pussies, Ortiz wanted to play dirty and got what he deserved. If this had been anybody else most of you would be calling him a bad ass who dont take **** from no cheatin ass *****.
The bitching about going on about that stoppage is ridiculous. It wasn't the most ethical thing to do but this is the hurt game, move the **** on
You think Julio Cesar Chavez or Roberto Duran would be be apologizing for headbutts? **** no. Ortiz has no honor. His heart pumps kool-aid. He needs to get into another sport like golf. This is boxing. He should have tried to headbutt him some more. **** outta here with honor. All the greats have been assholes in this sport of boxing. Ortiz needs to learn that.
Duran certainly wouldnt be above smacking someone with a shot like that, he is a badass who takes no ****, floyd does it and hes a ***** cheapshotting *****
A honorless/prideless dude like yourself wouldn't mind if i bang your mother? It's legal as far i am concerned. PM me her phone number.
