There's a way to save Kelly Pavlik's reputation: FIGHT PAUL WILLIAMS!

I guess that's how he ***** slapped Rubio into crying on his stool; cuz he's ruined. Someday you will make a worthwhile contribution to this forum. There's still hope.

 

As babality said, the haters will duly wheel out the "Pavlik fought a blown up WW" excuses iff he wins. But I agree insofar as it's the only big fight out there for him, and one which will, in the long-run, line his resume with another good name.

 

According to boxrec, he's 6'1". Maybe he looks taller 'cos he's used to fighting guys much smaller than him. In any case, Williams hasn't got any significant physical advantages over Pavlik; and, in terms of strength, Pavlik wins hands down.

 

what a ridiculous thing to say. had kelly been outclassed for 10 rounds and then knocked the **** out in a brutal fashion and then fought rubio and got knocked around you MIGHT be able to say he's "ruined". but nothing of the sort happened. not even close. kelly will be back stronger than ever.

anyone who tries to use that excuse if this fight happens will get no respect from me. williams has more than proven himself to be a really tough fight for ANYONE up to 160. maybe even up to 168 in a year or two.

 

I don't wish to see this fight at all. P-dub is not settled into MW yet. I doubt he could take pav's punch at this point. Pav is a huge Middleweight, P-dub weighed 145 3/4 pounds in his last fight at WW.

 

The most amazing thing about the present situation is that no one questions Sauerland. Trust me, this tournament took a long time to put together, and Sauerland did not make this deal overnight. All the screaming and hollering about wanting Pavlik was a public front while planning something completely different behind the scenes. And what top fighter did not get invited? And which top fighter's left overs is Abraham scheduled to fight?

Furthermore, while KP ***** slapped Rubio for 9 rounds without losing a round, AA looked like **** against a much lesser fighter in Simon, but AA is a monster and Pavlik is a *****atsch

 

Paul Williams has not faught ANY boxer with power, Verno, Winky, andy kolle, quintan x2 and margarito. If his chin holds up against a puncher like pavlik or aa, I have no doubt this guy will become something special. It remains to be seen, but from what I have seen, his activity against a power puncher will not be the same, once he feels the power, he will be reluctant because of getting countered. Right now Pavlik KTFO P Will round 7.

 

Check out the Margo fight, when you look at the 2 of them in the ring Paul looks 6-3 to you? we do know Margo is 5'11.

 

Exactly. i would only want to see this fight if i was a Pavlik fan.

 

he looks about 3 inches taller than margarito... maybe a little more. the top of margo's head is only about to williams's mouth. i think he and kelly would look about even standing next to eachother.

 

This is why I keep saying PWilly needs time to grow into the weight. Winky buzzed him a few times. If Winky buzzes you, Pavlik hurts you.

 

Ok, He looks like a very long and lanky guy. He is so thin that sometimes to me, he looks taller then other times i see him.

 

Boo,you are clearly in denial man.Pavlik is damaged goods.Boxing careers are short lived and full of pitfalls,so the constant excuse's about,time out,family time,new baby time,shady contracts,shady promoters, is a crock of ****.BHop ruined Kelly, period.I was a fan of Kelly before the BHop fight,and i honestly believed he was unbeatable at 160,but the fact is his bottomless well of self belief dried up during and after the schooling my Nard.Theres no shame in losing,some of the greats have took a beating and come back better and stronger,but i believe kelly to have the same mindset as Tyson did during his prime,and once the bubble of invincibility is burst,its all downhill.Kelly was the man at 160,and fighting Nard was always a risk at the higher weight,but the seed of doubt has been sown,and even at 160 Kelly will be fighting the demons of self doubt.He may be able to redeem himself at 160 with a big win,but at 168 he's gonna be found wanting.
