That was one of my points, he was already one of the smaller light middleweights (still a very good one, of course) so he has no business at 160lbs other than making fat cats money.

Oh. Yeah, please forgive me for living in one of the other 50+ states or territories that make up the United States.

Obviously there's excitement over there. That's why these greedy promoters put the ****ing fight together .

The point of my thread was to express that there SHOULDN'T be any excitement.

The promoters knew you would eat this **** up. You're sucking right from the teet, you mong. I'd bet good money you couldn't name the 7 or 8 middleweights who actually deserve a shot at Martinez.

But these pretentious promoters wave a big name like Cotto in your face and you jump for joy.

You're an allegory to a mindless fish that can't control itself from chasing after a shiny light. You represent everything that is wrong with boxing and why I made this thread.

The catchweight must be a mental thing. I mean 159?

Martinez isn't a big MW, He's weighed 159 and under his last few fights.

Cotto usually makes for entertaining fights. Martinez isn't the best defensive fighter and is hitting 40. There's a question mark on how much each guy has left, but hopefully it will be an exciting fight.

when u consider the fact that cotto will be traveling to the philippines to spar with pacquiao who is nothing like martinez....then he will be returning to l.a. to train....then possibly vegas....and back to l.a. then nyc in may...all that traveling during a camp is no good. see how that worked out for amir khan before he fought danny garcia or jorge linares before he fought demarco. i'm thinking cotto is going to get stopped in this fight.

Not to mad at this matchup Cotto wants a fourth division title and Martinez wants a HOFer on his record I wouldn't be surprised by a win by each man as for people talking about size to me its a bit bs Martinez started his career at WW Cotto at JWW Martinez is in his 3rd division Cotto his 4th, Martinez may have the height/reach edge but Cotto may have the style edge and definitely the experience edge both are always entertaining so it should be a good fight

    Me too.

    I cant wait!

Love both fighters, love the fact that Cotto is fighting for history, love the fact that they have both seen better days and we don't really know if Martinez is going to be totally shot or if he can pull some of the magic back.

I really want Cotto to win this, but its a tough ask.
