I would imagine that they will hang their hats on "No Mas"...:yep

It would be very sad if they did as it is one small chapter in a life that has inspired, shaped and become what is now part of boxing history...:yep

Ali is known for putting a new page in the history book of boxing with his display in Zaire in 1974 versus George Foreman...:yep

Roberto Duran wrote plenty of pages of his own...:good

I love his fight with Hagler, but the age difference was a key factor...:yep

I love the fight with Thomas Hearns and that crushing KO...what makes that punch even more special is that it is the great Roberto Duran on the end of it...:yep

On the Boxing Internet sites there is only one name I could ever have had...:yep

    :deal... NO MAS ...:deal

They are either going to have to unearth some facts that have lay buried for 30 years or use a bit of artistic licence because the bottom line of the story is Duran wins first fight, Duran goes on the ****, Duran loses the second fight.

Not much of a plot for a film....;O)

If I was to do a film on Duran I'd have it done in Spanish, focus on the Montreal fight and the lead up to it. Using flashbacks to explain the anger that drives the guy, as well as showing how much he did for the people of Panama City.. Looking at the NoMas fight is a bit of a shame really.

That's a good point. And as someone else mentioned it'd be better in two parts kind of like that Che Guavara film.

Great stories on Pat Lawlor :good I remember as a 16 year old, bunking off a school trip so I could go and watch him box Joe Calzaghe at the Star Leisure Centre in Cardiff!

I hope they do make a film about Duran, its a shame its not a film about his career though. His career is far more than that one fight.

Thats definitely a decent suggestion... his rise and fall so to speak. There are definitely some great tales out there about Duran and they would do well to talk to guys like Kimball who were there at the time. But they will probably revert to the old 'knocking out the horse' chestnut. Anyway i'm looking forward to it but expect I will be disappointed.
